Fantastic stay at the Kempinski. Incredibly friendly staff and excellent service. Facilities as you would expect from a Kempinski hotel. Only problem we found was that even at 8 in the morning many of the sunbeds around the pool had already been taken - that said there were plenty to go round.

We stayed in the Kempinski for 5 nights last Easter. The hotel is beautiful and much better located than the Movenpick. The Kempinski is actually on the beach whereas to get to the beach from the Movenpick u have to cross a bridge over the road, it might be a short walk but given the 40degree temperatures we had when we were in Aqaba, being right next to the water made the stay much more pleasant.

The rooms are very big, new, clean and nicely decorated. Try not to have adjacent rooms because you hear absolutely everything thats going on in the room right next to yours.

The pool is beautiful and perfect for swimming with its 40metre length but if dont have kids or dont enjoy their splashing and noises then it is not the place for you as it is full of them. Thats the major drawback of the hotel, if you want to rest by the pool, its virtually impossible.
You have sunbeds and cabannas on the beach and its much more peaceful there so in the end it was ok.

Eating :
* The breakfast was absolutely beautiful, plenty of choice and very good quality.
* The Black Pearl good but very poor value for money.
* The buffet was excellent in quantity and quality and very good value for money, not as cheap as having dinner out of the Hotel, but pretty reasonable.
* Room Service was very good, nice dinners and not crazy expensive

The only thing that was really out of any reasonable budget was the wine. The local wines (both white and red) were undrinkable, so then the choice started pass 30quid being the nice ones over 50 quid for something that in the UK would not be over 10 pounds in any supermarket.

All in all a very nice experience. The diving was not really good due to very poor visibility but its supposed to be amazing.
Petra is mind blowing. If you want to visit, rent a car with a driver in the hotel and try to be on your way at 5am. You will get to Petra just when it opens at 7am and visit it almost by yourself. Get a local guide and walk your way pass the Treasure up to the Monastery, its a hard climb but its really worth it. People visit later on the day and there are huge groups and its much hotter, so its not as nice.

The hotel has great service, clean comfortable rooms, and great views of the Red Sea. The location was easy to walk to restaurants and scuba diving shops. I had a traditional pedicure in the spa and was a little underwhelmed. They had me sitting in just a hotel room type chair with a portable type water thing to soak my feet in. Not exactly what I expected from Kempinski but the girl who did the pedicure was great.

We stayed at the Kempinski for 10 nights in a Panoramic Room. The room was great with a large bed, flat screen TV, a bathroom with a large glass wall adjacent the bath and a separate shower cubical with a large shower head which had plenty of power. There was even a volume dial in the bathroom so you could listen to the TV. There was a small fridge that contained complimentary drinks such as orange juice, Pepsi, 7 up and beer. The cupboard adjacent had a small tube of crisps.

The room was cleared twice a day and the drinks for the fridge were top up everyday, although we had to phone reception a couple of days to inform them our fridge had not been restocked.
Whilst we stayed at the hotel we did some scuba diving with Sinai Divers, who were based in Tala Bay, which is a 20 minute drive away – but only had to go to Tala Bay the first day to sign paperwork etc. The dive boat is docked at the Marina 5 minute drive from the Kempinski Hotel.
There is a main pool which is narrow but very long and a large Jacuzzi. We never got to sit around the pool area as the beds always had towels/books on them from the early hours of the day, so we resorted to the beach area, which was still very nice, plenty of clean beach towels were available. The pool/beach staff were very helpful.

Breakfast was very good and after a couple of visits the staff remembered our names as we entered.

We did have a meal at the Fish In, which was very good food (although expensive) just over 100 dinar for two main courses and three cocktails, but unfortunately our candle lit dinner was not very relaxing as we had a table next to us with a couple of kids that had noisy electronic games and crying half the time. The room service food was very good.

Overall I was very impressed with the service, staff and quality of the hotel would definitely recommend the stay.
