Had a fantastic stay in this lovely little villa just outside of the city center. We enjoyed the modern, spacious rooms with outdoor shower area. The rooms were clean and elegant and the service was friendly and helpful. They provide free bicycles to ride around or you can also rent a motorbike, which we did. The ride into town is only about 10 minutes. Complimentary breakfast was hearty and made to order. Beautiful gardens and pool area. For the price, definitely one of the nicest places we've stayed in our travels through Asia. Highly recommend!

The two of us were the only guests for two nights but that was not why it was such a perfect stay for us both. Great rooms, lovely pool, stunning gardens and water features, beautiful setting and they provide bicycles so you can cycle either into town or to the beach. Just perfect, we loved it...and how many places would be cool about serving you a scotch to sip whilst sitting in the pool at 10:00pm?

This is a fantastic hotel - free transfers to and from the airport, gorgeous surroundings, helpful staff, lovely rooms and great food. We stayed 4 nights and were very well looked after by all the helpful staff. The hotel is located a 10 minute bike ride from the centre which makes it very peaceful. The best bit is the setting with a swimming pool surrounded by lily pads and a pond bursting with life and a pagado where you can lounge around on the big sofas. I can't recommend this hotel enough.

We stayed in 2 hotels whilst we were in Hoi An and loved them both. Villa Hoa Su is the perfect tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town. It takes about 15 minutes to cycle into town. The swimming pool is spectacular and our 4 children loved chilling out in the pool whilst watching the fish in the pond which surrounds the pool - very clever design. The staff were extremely helpful. We would recommend this hotel to anyone, whether it is for business of family holiday.

This is superb place to stay. A 10-minute taxi ride from the centre of town it is extremely quiet and peaceful. The 5 pond-side rooms are spacious and very comfortable with air conditioning, indoor and outdoor shower and separate toilet. Each room has a small open sided veranda with comfortable chairs ideal for a quiet read or drink. The one upstairs room is slightly bigger and has a large balcony overlooking the garden and nearby fields.

We spent a very relaxing week here at the end of our first trip to Vietnam. We walked to and from the centre of town several times though the first few days many roads near the river were flooded. Taxis were easy to come by and it cost around 55000VND each way. The free cycles are always available so I went exploring the nearby farming and fishing community most mornings or rode into town to satisfy my fascination with markets and photography.

Breakfasts were very good with western or Vietnamese food available along with fresh bread, fruit, fruit juice and hot drinks. We ate dinner at the villa twice having negotiated ingredients and dishes in the morning. The food was very tasty and good value for money. A bottle of reasonable quality imported white wine cost around $30.

The staff, particularly Thu and Bond, was all very professional, friendly and very eager to please. Nothing was too much trouble and everybody was quick to respond to any requests. There is a mini bar in the room but drinks were always available on request from reception. We were very well looked after.

The grounds are beautiful. The open sided central structure is completely surrounded by a pond full of interesting fish and flowering lilies. The swimming pool is extremely refreshing maintaining a very cool temperature, which was quite bracing on entry. A very pleasant environment.

The owners also have a clothes shop in Hoi An where I had some shirts made which were excellent quality and very reasonably priced. The finished garments were delivered to our room 7 hours after placing my order. Brilliant.

Hoi An is a really interesting town with lots to do and see. There had been a flood early in our stay so the streets near the river had been inundated with water and mud. It was amazing how quickly the local people got back to normal though many tourists would have been evacuated to hotels on higher land. There are scores of tempting restaurants and we tried quite a few. A particular favourite was Morning Glory. The main market is fantastic with wonderful fresh produce, meat and fish on sale all organised by female stallholders under conical hats. There are also scores of clothes shops offering made to order garments at very reasonable prices.

The a Reaching Out organisation was very impressive; their tea room is staffed by amazingly positive deaf young people. Ordering is done by ticking boxes on a paper menu and there are wooden blocks with messages on the table which you hold up for more ‘hot water’ or ‘the bill’. It is an extremely calm and pleasant place to sit and drink tea. The organisation also has a craft workshop and shop. This is staffed by disabled young people who, again, are inspiringly pleasant and positive; they sell some really nice craft items most of which are made in the workrooms at the back.

Amongst the many pluses of staying at Villa Hao Su was a 10% reduction for staying a week and free transfers to and from Da Nang airport. This hotel is amongst the top five places we have stayed in anywhere in the world and we would certainly stay here again. We recommend Villa Hao Su unreservedly.

Room Tip: We started in the upstairs room which is bigger and with a private balcony. It was raining very heavily when we arrived and we decided that walking up and down the open stairs would be uncomfortable even with the umbrellas provided. We then opted to stay in a pool-side room which was also really nice. This room could accommodate 3 people if required.
