We rode the Buquebus over from Buenos Aires on a day where it rained and rained and rained and then rained some more. We were happy to find this place to eat in the midst of the dampness and after finding out that a lot of the places were closed when the ship arrived in Colonia on a Saturday morning. We took the 9am ferry across and I don't know if lots of the attractions were closed because it was early in the day for South American shops to open or if they were closed because of the rain.
The waitstaff was pleasant and we selected from the tourist menu which was simple and the food was good. We had a chicken stroganoff which was good comfort food in such damp weather and the vanilla ice cream with dessert was amazing (not sure what they put in it but it's good stuff). Coke in a bottle was good and remember that in South America there is real sugar in Coke so it was great ;-)
Even through the rain we enjoyed the hotel and the view and we felt the price for lunch was reasonable. The waitstaff spoke good English but helped us practice our limited Spanish too. I would recommend this place to another traveler.
