Al Jahili Fort is an architectural monument and one of the oldest forts of Al Ain. It is very small and located inside Jahili Park which exists in the heart of the city.

Like other museums, the fort is also having artifacts and different types of art galleries. Some of the events will be conducted during winter season.

Since Jahili Park is a well known place for Al Ain residents, the fort is also an interesting place to visit once.

Access to the fort is easy, dedicated play areas for kids and BBQ slots are available around it.

Free parking is available, there is no entry fee and one hour is enough to spend here. There are no restaurants near the fort, but refreshment stalls are there.

Located on the perimeter of Jahili Park across from the Rotana Hotel and the 'pink' palace, Al Jahili Fort is an interesting place to visit. During the cooler months, it often hosts evening concerts under the stars which is the best time to visit this fort. There is an exhibit/area which provides some written historical information about the fort. There is also a Starbuck's in the park which is within walking distance.

We visited this fort primarily to view the "wedding cake like" keep. However, we were blown away by the excellent exhibition of phortographs by Wilfred Thesiger who travelled the desert as a Bedouin would and recorded their way of life.
