Marmaris itself is horrible. This hotel is ten mins away from town. Which was the only good thing. Hotel is two star only. Food is average and the same every day. Turkey chicken rice slop salad chips and nuggets.

Advertises as a 4 star hotel, 3 star would be more realistic. The food was awful and very, very repetative. I would advise going half board and eating out, plenty of restaurants selling good traditional local produce including SEA FOOD! Please note club Cettia. The supermarket in Marmaris has a fantastic stock of fresh vegetables, various meats and wonderfully fresh FISH, all the more disappointing to witness the mediocre mush served in the hotel restaurant. Chicken nuggets, chips and hot dogs were in abundance and this seemed to go down well with the traditional sunburnt, tattooed, British holiday maker. The hotel is clean thanks to the hard working house keeping staff, the rest of the hotels employed incumbents could take a leaf out of their books. The bar staff were completely uninterested and rude unless you happened to be an attractive female. The photographer, the jewler, the spa manager circled like sharks "inviting" newly arrived tourists to sample their wares or treatments "no pressure or commitment sir/madam", we had been in the hotel for less than 30 mins. The entertainment staff were commendable in their effort and enthusiasm and did arrange some excellent shows/demonstrations. The pool side is treacherous and several individuals slipped with fairly nasty results, further to this sun beds are crammed in and difficult to obtain unless you are a very early riser. The sea front into Marmaris is a mixture of Great Yarmouth and Blackpool, littered with seedy bars and equally matched indigenous males. The views across the bay and the local area are stunning and the old harbour is definitely worth strolling round. The restaurants are, in the main, very good and reasonably priced in this part of Marmaris. My wife and I are in our late 30's with 2 sons aged 15 & 17, we have had several family holidays and stayed in some very good 4 star hotels this unfortunately not one of those. Will not be going back.

Just a quick review of the Grand Cettia Hotel. We stayed from the 24th Oct till 1st Nov. The hotel and room were always clean and tidy. We stayed in the new building in the complex and is a bit more modern.
The sunbathing and pool area are far too overcrowded. At the beginning of the holiday the hotel was at full capacity and was a nightmare too find a bed and if you could find one you were virtually touching another bed at all four sides of you. By the end of the holiday, as the season ended it was far more relaxing and finding a bed was easier.
The food was mediocre. We have stayed in many all inclusives in the past years and found the food at the Grand Cettia far too boring and repetitive. I think it has put my kids off chicken nuggets for the rest of their lives.
The bar staff were a mixture of rude and arrogant to pleasant. The waiting staff seemed fine and by the end of the holiday, again by then the staff were underworked with the amount of holiday makers left, they seemed to have a lot more time for you and did seem friendly.
I would hate to have stayed at this hotel in the height of summer as I would have felt like a sardine and very uncomfortable.
A quick mention to Jesus, the man that sold Spa treatments. He was such a lovely guy and always remembered everybody's names. He was never too pushy.
We stayed at the Hilton Dalaman in May/June which was unbelievable but you cant compare for the money, but last year at the exact same period we stayed at the Grand Ideal in Marmaris and this was far superior in standards of food, surroundings and staff for the same price.

just arrived back yesterday and the hotel was realy nice and clean . one thing i would say is not to go end of season by our last few days the hotel was dead but we made the most of it and by our last night we was the last two rooms out of the five left witch was quite scary lol.food did get repetative and some bits of the food were not so good like for eg the chips which always tasted a few days old.on the drinks part of all inclusive i cant realy complain exsept for the early finish of the all inclusive finishing at 11 pm.rooms were very clean and tidy probably best room we have stayed in for a while.some staff were freindly like the entertainment team but bar staff and reception staff looked like they hated there job but this could of been down to end of season but still there is no excuse .all in all had a good holiday and met some great people.i would just advise not going to turkey in end of season because all bars and clubs are dead.

Room Tip: stayed in room 323 and had a resonable view of pool and bar area

Arrived back from the Grand Cettia Hotel 1 week ago (24/10/11), our first trip to turkey. Absolutley fabulous holiday, 5 of us went, 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The hotel is really great, very clean spacious rooms. One of our rooms had a pool view, both had balconies. There is plenty of food 2 choose from including childrens buffet as well.Theres early breakfast, breakfast, late breakfast, lunch, afternoon snacks, cakes and coffee in the afternoon and evening meal. Loads to choose from, The pool area is great, its clean and plenty of drinks at the poolside bar and loads of sunloungers and parasols if u need one.Its all inclusive at grand cettia, plenty of drinks 2 choose from served all day till 11pm but u do have 2 pay for a few imported drinks [malibu wkd etc].The manager is very nice and friendly and all the staff are brilliant, they can,t do enough 4 you. The entertainment team are brilliant especially with the younger kids. There was entertainment on stage every nite and bingo and kids disco as well. In the hotel thers a turkish bath, sauna, massage, indoor pool, jacuzzi, chocolate massage 4 the kids, foam massage, and the fish 4 your feet. The hotel has a beauty salon 4 hair, eyebrows, extensions, pedicures, nails and eyelash extensions great prices. The weather was fabulous better than expected, got a great tan 4 october. The maids cleaned the rooms every day and fresh towels each day and when you arrive they take your suitcases to your room 4 you. The grand cettia hotel is in a good location, just a 10-15 minute walk 2 the beach and bars, shops restaurants and clubs. v i p club down by the beach was great.Just can,t wait to go back to turkey and grand cettia hotel.
