Hi - we stayed in this apartment just over a week - we were a group of 2 adults and 3 teenagers (15, 16 & 17) - 2 of the kids have Aspergers.
The apartment - PERFECT! exactly as the pictures show and very very clean!
Communication prior to going was also Excellent from the owner Karina - we are very grateful for all the info you provided!
Electricity is provided by meter - £10 is provided for you arriving - we topped up £30 to be safe and still had over £11 left when we vacated - and that was because we used the air con almost 24/7 in the lounge and occasionally in the bedrooms - it was needed!
The Location - high up a mountain, quite 'away from it all' but beautiful! Many of the apartments are empty at the Flamingo resort - that didnt bother us at all! in fact being able to get up and go the pool and have a sun lounger and usually the pool to ourselves was just brilliant! I've never had such a peaceful relaxing holiday and would defo go back! in fact the kids even said they would all go back! and for one of them with Aspergers this is astounding!!
There is a free shuttle bus in the complex that drives around the other resorts and takes you to the shops etc - if you tell this guy where you are going he will even go out of his way to drop you there! he is great :) and a small tip helps too!
However the shuttle only runs until 9pm - we would have got it out of the resort to the local bar/restaurants and then walking back downhill isnt so bad - its well over a 100 steps down to the apartment, so if mobility is poor - this is not the place to be! If it wasnt for the shuttle I could never have got out of the resort.
Facilities at the resort - most were closed which was disappointing - the shop and restaurant especially! we only found out before we left - but they were working to reopen the restaurant so hopefully it will be open soon. We spoke with another guy who said August is very busy there - but I am not sure it would be overly busy as half the apartments are empty - I'm happy with this as we wanted a relaxing holiday and we got it, just would have appreciated easier access to fresh goods like bread and milk.
Wifi - this is poor - it is restricted to the Marketing Office - during the day you can sit indoors to access it, but if 3 or 4 people there, its not great and signal is very weak - in the evenings you sit outside on the benches and again signal is poor - this is where the kids spent majority of their time - using wifi in the evenings!
There is a huge supermarket nearby - we got the shuttle to it and a taxi back with all the shopping (15 TL) - it worked out well, there is a huge fridge freezer in the apartment for storing the food!
Also in the apartment there are lots of extras like dvd's, books, a toy box with rackets and ropes etc there.
We went to Bodrum a few times on the Dolmus (7TL each way each person) - it takes around 45mins to get in & is worth it for a change of scenery.
I would surely recommend the apartment and would consider returning again - its the perfect away from it relaxing holiday! We all enjoyed it very much!
