“Peaceful retreat”
Reviewed 20 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

What a hidden gem! The villa is at the end of a long pathway, in a very private position not overlooked on any side . There are wonderful views of the harbour and mountainside from the pool area and terrace .
The house has a real Turkish feel ,with brightly coloured rugs and a lovely wall hanging. The kitchen is modern with all mod cons . All bedrooms are ensuite ,two of them have private terraces ,ideal for breakfast or pre dinner drinks,
The villa is a 10 minute walk to the harbour , there is a steep hill on the way back but taxis are cheap and plentiful ,There are supermarkets a few minutes away and a bakery across the road.
The village has little winding roads leading down to the harbour with lots of interesting shops and excellent rooftop restaurants , Our favourites were The Olive Garden, Kosk and sade.
We spent a wonderful week at Suro Evi and would love to return.

This is the second time I've visited Kalkan and the second time I've stayed at Suro Evi. The owners even arranged private transfers from Dalaman airport.
Wow what a view from the large private pool across the bay. The house has a fully fitted kitchen and all the amenities to go with it including a dishwasher. As it was May we didn't need the Air Con but you would need it in July/Aug. The outdoors of the house is very large with six extremely comfortable sun loungers and a shaded area with a hammock if your not a sun worshipper. There's also a bbq in the garden.
Kalkan has a very steep hill down to the marina. Walk down but get a taxi back, it's only £2-£3.
The restaurants are plentiful with a good few having rooftop terraces. Our favourite was Sade(need to book) and Kosk. The local people are very friendly and do not hassle you at all as I've found in other parts of Turkey. Highly recommend the Turkish Bath next to the Swan Pub and the other tip would be to take Sterling with you and change your money in Kalkan although we found nearly every shop would be more than happy to take your Sterling.
Last of all, Thursday is market day, lots of bargains for fake handbags and designer clothing.
Would highly recommend the house and Kalkan.
See you next year Suro Evi and Kalkan.

My family and I stayed in Suro Evi for a week, and just had the best of everything! Set in a perfect position and not overlooked at all, afforded not only privacy but the relaxation that is so needed whilst on holiday. The villa is spacious, sparkling clean and well stocked with everything you need. The views were as spectacular as advertised!

“Superb villa with total privacy”

Much has been written already but here are the main plus points:
Totally private garden.
Large pool (unusual in Kalkan) & very clean.
Large rooms, all ensuite.
Quiet air-con. Due to villa design we did not need to use air-con during day, even tho 45+ outside.
Good wifi.
Attention to detail such as: providing basic cleaning supplies for washing machine/dishwasher, water cooler, nice big fridge, big parasols in garden.

Minus points:
Hard to think of any, but villa is at the top of the steep road into town. We had a hire car so did not have to rely on taxis. Would not want to attempt the hike up the hill.

“A great villa for a family holiday”
Reviewed 1 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Totally excellent property - everything you could want - we were travelling with grown -up children - so it was perfect in terms of space, bathrooms, bedrooms, brilliant pool with loungers - location close enough to the town centre restaurants, bars and supermarkets - thoroughly enjoyed our stay and kalkan is a wonderful town
