“Great spa experience & close to beach”
Reviewed 8 March 2012

Rooms are ok, nothing to write home about - what is great about the Crowne Plaza @ Antalya is the spa (great Turkish bath) - 2 services one for both men & women and the other for women only. One for women located on top floor, fantastic amentieis & views of the sea. Highly recommend a spa treatment. The pool is great too (before and/or after the beach experience). The beach is accessible via an underpass from the hotel - lounge chairs and umbrellas are available for guetss. there is a shower, a lifeguard on duty. Yes it is a pebble beach, however, this is so not an issue, when you see your surroundings. I spent close to 6 hours on the beach and had not one complaint. The water was perfect and I had all i needed.

Room Tip: highly recommend the Aphrodite spa

This is an excellent hotel, perfect location and first class service. From the Customer Service Manager, Alyona to the receptionists - everybody was so kind and helpful. The hotel is certainly somewhere I would stay again, and tell any of my friends to go there....

Room Tip: Ask for a high floor and seaview - many rooms are non-smoking

You need to enter your ID number to their system everytime you get online thru their wireless, and the internet is heavyly restricted by the firewall they are using. I could not even browse the flickr without getting disrupted by the firewall.
If you care about your privacy or think it is wrong for others to decide which websites you can browse in your hotel room, stay away from this sXXthole.

Have selected this hotel mostly because it belongs to international hotel chain (IHG) - and it seems, that I've made a right decision. Although it's located rather far from Antalya city center, it still seems to be a good option if all you need is sun & sea and a comfy room - it's rather quiet , compared to more popular resorts, besides, hotel was built just several years ago - that's why all rooms and hotel amenities are in good condition. As for the negatives - hotel surroundings are not that good - it's some kind of wasteland, which, in a year or two, would be covered by newly build houses and hotels (the good thing is that hotel's separated from it's lousy neighborhood by the fence).

As for the rooms - one, that I've had was very spacious & well furnished (seems to be a distinct advantage of all hotels under Crowne Plaza brand).

Overall this was a good hotel option in Antalya. Contrary to some other Trip Advisor comments, I found the reception desk staff to always be helpful and attentive, though their command of the English language was inconsistent. Biggest drawback was that the lobby (and restaurant) was consistently very cold, making it a bit uncomfortable to have small business meetings there. There is signage indicating bringing in outside food and drink is disallowed, but you can buy large-sized bottled water at the bar or restaurant at reasonable prices and you will get a complimentary small bottle daily in your room. Dinner options off the menu in the restaurant (and room service) are limited and somewhat pricey for what you receive. Buffet costs 40 turkish lira, lots of variety, breakfast buffet options seemed better than dinner. They do have an option where some meals are included in the room rate so check to see if there is value to this. Room service was very fast. The rooms are OK, the beds pretty hard, but the linens/towels are all in good condition. (Bring your own washcloth if you need one, as none is provided.) Hairdryer is provided, also alarm clock, free wi-fi (generally worked well but periodically connectivity came in fits and spurts), and hot water pot and instant coffee/tea. On arrival I had problems with the water pressure in the shower and a call to the front desk had it repaired within ten minutes. Had another problem later with a lamp and it, too, was very quickly repaired. Be prepared to get your head wet when you turn on the shower as the glass shower door doesn't open close to the faucet - kind of a wierd set up - and you are limited as to how high the water temperature can get. A good, HOT shower won't be possible here. The wake-up service is reliable (though one day I got SEVEN separate calls, evidently a system malfunction that again was resolved as soon as I called to report it.) The hotel is located right across the street from the coastline of the Mediterranean and there is a wonderful boardwalk all the way to the downtown area that is perfect for running/walking. In the fitness vein, the hotel also has an assortment of spas and fitness centers and hamams (turkish baths) available for both men and women. Hotel is in short walking distance to several great restaurants with authentic Turkish food. Our favorite was Cukoravu, where the chef has won several medals for his cooking talents. Try the lamacun (Turkish pizza) - it's large and priced at only 3 TL. Be aware the portions are HUGE, though the prices are very reasonable, the wait staff great. (My credit card accidentally fell out of my pocket on to the floor under my chair while there and the waiter handed it to me two days later when I returned to the restaurant. No charges on the credit card - they'll get my referrals just for their honesty!). Another benefit at the hotel is that they will exchange a small amount of Euro or US Dollars into Turkish Lira at no charge.
