“13 nights @Patong Resort”
Reviewed 23 April 2012

My partner and I booked into this place for 13 nights on recommondation from the travel agent. We check it out on Trip Advisor and the reviews were fairly positive so we went ahead with it. We told the agent that we wanted to have a room in the garden wing, as most reviews had stated that was the better wing to stay at. On arrival at the hotel at something like 2am local time we were taken to a room on the 4th floor of the older part of the hotel, not what we had booked. These rooms are a bit dated and the bed was rock hard and I mean rock hard.I went back to reception and told them we had booked a garden wing room and requested a topper for the bed. The next morn the topper arrived and we were told that we would be moving to a room in Garden wing the next day. What a hugh difference staying in the garden wing. The rooms are lovely, clean and the air con worked great. The garden pool is far better than the main pool with trees to sit under during the hot days. Yes the location was good being close to the beach, shopping and night life. We found the staff to be friendly and very helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast, even after the 13th day, and it was a good way to start our day.I would definately go back to this place but only to the Garden wing. I'm sure that many holiday makers there didnt know about the garden wing as it seperate from the main hotel rooms. Lots to do and see in Phuket and all within walking distance from the hotel.

Room Tip: Book a Garden wing room!!!!

I travelled to Thailand for the first time in March for 11 nights with a group of 3 other women, all in our late 20's. When booking we asked the travel agent for a mid range, cheaper hotel in a great location and we got exactly what we asked for. The hotel is older but very clean and tidy, with helpful and friendly staff. We stayed on the 4th floor facing the tennis court. The rooms are older but serviced daily and we were over there to explore Phuket, not spend time in our hotel room. The aircon worked very well which was great! Like many others we found the beds hard but got used to them after the first couple of nights and then found out towards the end of our stay that we could have asked for foam toppers which would have helped. There is no free wifi in the hotel but most restaurants close by had free wifi so we usually accessed wifi that way which was not a big deal at all. Drinks and food are expensive at the hotel but we expected that. The pools were clean, we usually swam in the back pool because there was more shade. Breakfast was good but did get repetive but where wouldn't after 11 days of eating at the same place. The location could not have been better, we were only a 5 minute walk from the beach, large shopping centre Jungceylon and the nightlife on Bangla Road. We found the hotel was good value for money and would stay there again.

Have stayed here before the last time was 2 years ago, so going back was something of a disappointment. Its a great location, but no free Wi Fi, which is common in Thailand, and its expensive to purchase from the hotel.
There are a lot of Australians and Russians staying they have parties in the pool, drinking and very noisy in the afternoons and evening. Glasses and bottles were left round the pool and the sound of broken glass was common.
There is no shade around the pool, and no Umbrellas.
We had only one room key and this was inconvenient, (they don't use Electronic cards).
We would not stay here again, for the reasons stated although I have no complaints about the other services provided.

My wife and I arrived early in morning from Bangkok and our booked room wasn't ready then went back and forth between rooms with rooms issued but not finished being cleaned to a room where we couldn't connect to internet. After 3 hours - the manager finally upgraded us to a beautiful room that was clean, had good internet and was on the 6th floor with lovely views to the beach.
Great location with easy access 3 ways - 1. straight out to Bangla Road, 2. straight out to beach or 3. straight out to back road and up to Jungceylon.
internet not free but at least a reasonable cost for 7 days access.

Breakfast good, service good, room in main building - older style but still neat clean & tidy.
Pools good but used the rear garden pool as nicer surrounds.

Would definitely go back.

Me and a friend stayed there for what was meant to be 8 nights we were meant to leave on the 11th the day the tsunami happened our transfers were meant to pick us up but didnt because we had to wait it out. So we had to stay another night they charged us 4500 Baht triple of what we paid for a night and they charged us to use the $31 a phone call to organise how we will get to the airport and if the when our new flights will be. None of the staff seemed to care. We were lucky to meet some nice Australians that helped us out.
