“Many Times to Patong - 1st time to Patong Resort”
Reviewed 17 April 2012

My wife and I arrived early in morning from Bangkok and our booked room wasn't ready then went back and forth between rooms with rooms issued but not finished being cleaned to a room where we couldn't connect to internet. After 3 hours - the manager finally upgraded us to a beautiful room that was clean, had good internet and was on the 6th floor with lovely views to the beach.
Great location with easy access 3 ways - 1. straight out to Bangla Road, 2. straight out to beach or 3. straight out to back road and up to Jungceylon.
internet not free but at least a reasonable cost for 7 days access.

Breakfast good, service good, room in main building - older style but still neat clean & tidy.
Pools good but used the rear garden pool as nicer surrounds.

Would definitely go back.

Me and a friend stayed there for what was meant to be 8 nights we were meant to leave on the 11th the day the tsunami happened our transfers were meant to pick us up but didnt because we had to wait it out. So we had to stay another night they charged us 4500 Baht triple of what we paid for a night and they charged us to use the $31 a phone call to organise how we will get to the airport and if the when our new flights will be. None of the staff seemed to care. We were lucky to meet some nice Australians that helped us out.

Close to everything, beach, shops etc. Big room on 5th floor. Good attentive friendly staff.
Only average breakfast, no free Wi Fi, you also have to pay for your safety deposit box.
Beds are rock hard so make sure you ask at reception for a mattress liner (extra sponge).
Food is expensive but there are good restaurants within 5 mins walking.
Looked after us when the tremor and potential tsunami were threatening and the 8th floor would have to be a good safe haven.

Once again we opted to stay at the patong resort and as usual we were very happy with our stay. Close to everything and friendly service and staff. We had a deluxe room in wing 3 and that seems to be the place to stay as it is close to the pool and bay and has a ground floor entry and a small balcony for relaxing after those busy days out. Bangla rd 2 min away and massage strip just around the corner. Jungceylon shopping centre 5 min walk where you can get some good Bargins and a lot of restaurants. The beach is only 5 min walk and shopping surrounds the hotel. The lobby has internet available for a small price. Book through the hotel directly for a better price. Breakfast is good, bacon and eggs toast and juice is a must the egg station is great, omelettes, scrambled, fried or boiled not to bad at all. Garden pool bar staff very helpful and friendly. Nice hotel 3 star yes the Hilton no but for a reasonably priced hotel in the middle of everything we will be back.

Room Tip: When checking in ask for a soft mattress for the bad and they will arrange a topper as the beds are...

We spent 3 weeks here March 2012. The location is great. Short walk to beach, Jung Ceylon, and many restaurants, bars etc. etc. close by. The staff are fantastic. Breakfast very ordinary.Smoking section is located right beside the food!! A safe is in the room but there is a 50 baht per day charge and DON'T lose the key. Free safety deposit boxes are beside reception if you don't mind the inconvenience. The king bed was extremely hard and my neck is still aching from the pillows. The balcony rails are very low and I would not even venture outside on the balcony (5th floor). We've stayed here twice, once in a villa and this time in the main hotel.
