Very enjoyable stay, lovely resort, out of the hustle and bustle but still close to shopping. Quiet resort, great breakfast but most of all great pools no shortage of sun beds. Intend on coming back. Friendly staff.

Good:
Great pools. The one closest to the reception, you can even access their wifi.
Rooms were nice and tidy.
Free toothbrush in the room if you forget
Great outside restaurant that serves som tasty beef tenderloin

Bad:
The service could be better. Some times it was a pain to get a beer in the bar and not all employees spoke English very well.
10 minutes walk to Bangla road. Would be nice if it was closer when you walk home drunk :)

I give 3 stars because it pretty much lived up to my expectations for a 4 star hotel but not better.

"Exotic" would be the appropriate description.
It's located a few minutes walk south of the Patong, so it's not right in the middle of the chaotic street, and this provides for the required relaxation.
The rooms and suites are tastefully decorated with Teak wood.
We stayed there on a family holiday just before purchasing a new house, and we had some design ideas which we implemented in our house.
This was our 4th visit to Thailand, so we certainly had a perspective when rating the hotel.

We found this resort excellent for us. I cannot understand the complaint of only one exit/entrance as surely this is a safer way to go and is not that much of an effort to get to the beach. We were in room 9302 which is about as far away from reception as you can get and up 40 stairs no lift . The bell boy who took us there in an electric cart advised us to try for another room "tomorrow" as hotel was full but we decided we needed the exercise and stayed and enjoyed the view . the gardens are magnificent and finding different species of plants every day was a joy. Close to the noise and bustle of the beach area but so nice to come back to after a hard days shopping. Staff were very friendly and sometimes insisted we take the transport to our room. We are elderly but fit enough. A lass on reception phoned our transport company for us as we had our flights changed by Thai airways . This was done with a smile. Why people expect everyone to speak English when they are in another country is a mystery to me. Shouting at staff will get you nowhere but a smile and sign language will usually get you there in the end.The three pools are well maintained and lovely to look at.
We would definitely return to this beautiful hotel

Room tip: first floor in the superior wing would be good
