My husband & I opted on this hotel for our first sleep upon arrival at 2AM Fri Morning.
In the interest of full disclosure, we were not really interested in spending time in Patong, that all night party/drunken revelry is not our thing.
This elegant & modern hotel is about a 10 minute walk from all the craziness of Bangla Road but just across the street from a great part of Patong Beach.
We got the cheapest room available so did not have a view, but were so comfortable that after a few hours sleep were able to put the Lay in B-Lay Tong.
If I were planning to spend more time here, would opt for one of the balcony spa rooms with a view, as the pool access suites were dark & down below. They did not compare or have access to the main infinity pool that is the center hotel feature.
As we were heading over to another hotel that afternoon, they provided a late checkout & reasonably priced transportation to the resort we were headed to.
We both loved this property & have a lot of nice ones to compare it to.

Room Tip: Spa balcony rooms with a view or a suite.

This feels like the kind of place built with a passion by someone with a vision of what kind of hotel they wanted to create, so well designed and with loads of little details that make your stay better. I just spent ten days here for a relax, it was a break at the end of working in Asia for a couple of months so I was on my own but was a really lovely stay. The hotel can't be praised enough, and the restaurant aside they get everything right from the great rooms to the beautiful grounds and friendly staff.

The rooms are modern and relaxing, with a iPod station and speakers, a completely free mini bar that is restocked everyday, different sitting areas, great modern bathrooms and views of the grounds or ocean. The main pool overlooks the sea and has a nice bar when you can sit in the water having cocktails or a coffee. I will point out though they do Photoshop their photos of this infinity pool to take out electricity lines that run between it and the ocean, slightly naughty of them. There are a lot fo different areas to relax in outside, so you can either mingle amongst people at the pool or find quiet places to sit in the grounds on your own undisturbed.

One slight downer is that they have to be worried about the performance of the restaurant. It is very large and has space for perhaps 150 people to be served at once but rarely had more than a small handful of people at any time I walked past apart from breakfast. It is a beautiful space and surrounding restaurants are busier so the reason has to be the food just isn't that good. Out of laziness I dined here several times and tried quite a few dishes, they seem to best at simple fare like burgers and sandwiches. If I ordered anything else it wasn't good, I had a rather poor Beef Chow Mein for example, you know when you overcook instant noodles and then leave them a couple of minutes they become one hard lump, it was like that.

As for Trips, I was massively recommend doing a speed boat tour to Phang Nga bay for the day. These are often advertised as going to James Bond Island but this is usually just a small part of the day since there is so much to see and do including taking sea canoes into caves etc

Wow! We stayed at B-Lay Tong for 10 days recently for my birthday. Friendly, helpful porters immediately opened the doors of our cab and took our luggage upon arrival and the experience continued to impress from there.

Our room was gorgeous - clean, modern and thoughtfully equipped. We were on the second floor and had views out across the private pools of the suites underneath and a tropical garden area. The bed was a true king size with quality linen, the bathroom was large and clean, Loved the lighting and the comfy day bed. Also appreciated was the ipod dock and the free minibar selection which was replenished daily. My only complaint with the room was that there was quite a lot of noise transfer from neighbouring rooms, especially one night where our neighbours partied all night.

Breakfast was not included in our package but we chose to eat at the hotel breakfast buffet most days. This was slightly expensive by local standards but the selection was extensive and delicious. Room service meals also impressed and were reasonably priced.

The hotel is located just across the road from Patong beach. One of the things we liked about the location was that it was about 10 minutes easy walk away from the madness of the main part of beach road.

We loved the pool - swim up bar and a great view across to the beach. If you stay there make sure you experience sunset cocktails there at least once!

Overall we were impressed with the service received at the resort. With few exceptions the staff were friendly, genuine and eager to help.

The resort spa is also worth a visit. I had two massages there during my stay. The treatment rooms are spacious, clean and well laid out and the therapists friendly and skilled.

If we come back to Patong we will most certainly return to B-lay Tong.

Excellent hotel, stayed during songkran.
I had emailed the hotel previous to arriving to request a sea view room with twin beds, unfortunately when we arrived I we had a room on the 2nd floor with no view, so the hotel changed this for us (took about an hour) but also gave us x4 free drinks at the bar.

We had room 346 on the 4th floor with sea view. Ipod speakers is a great idea as well as jacuzzi on balcony. Used the jacuzzi every evening and overlooked the sea and thunderstorms. AMAZING! Little things like the mood light are really nice touches. The bed was the most comfortable in all the hotels I had stayed in whilst I was in Thailand. Staff were really attentive although my friend lost his wallet one night and it was handed in the next morning. he had already cancelled his cards so we would have expected the staff to call the room as soon as the wallet was found as this meant he had no money for the rest of the trip!

full mini bar every day, for free! spacious rooms with excellent art. Shower was sooooooooo big. Very clean hotel, would definitely come back.

Breakfast I found as being quite average. The bar has some really potent cocktails! didn't spend too much time eating at the hotel as there are plenty of other places with a little more atmosphere.

Room Tip: Choose a 'grand deluxe', paying extra for the Jacuzzi is worth it
