My mother and I stayed at this hotel with a tour group for 4 nights. Our room number was 301.
We arrived late at night during a power cut, but the hotel had provided meal packs for us all, which we ate in the lobby until the power was restored.
All rooms in the main body of the hotel appeared to be accessed from a balcony which looked out over the front of the hotel. The rooms themselves looked out over the river and the pool at the rear of the hotel. The view was quite lovely and tranquil and the room was quiet. The room had 2 large beds, with very firm mattresses and very well stuffed pillows. Despite this, the beds were comfortable. The bathroom was clean and spacious. We had 4 bottles of free water in our room, but I do not know whether this was pre-arranged by the tour group or whether this was standard. Kettles and hair dryers were provided. There was no room service. A sofa was placed by the window, so in the late afternoons we could sit by the window looking out over the pool/river.
Laundry was more expensive than in Malaysia and Vietnam - it was around £20 to wash 3 tee shirts, 3 pairs of knickers, a pair of trousers and a bra.
Another review said that breakfast was basic - it wasn't basic in my opinion. There were pastries, breads, cereals, eggs, yogurts, fruit, pancakes and assorted cooked foods that I was not interested in. We also ate dinner in the hotel and they produced some of the best vegetarian food that I have experienced in the Far East. However, I don't know whether this was because there were 7 veggies in our tour group and the hotel had been well briefed in advance or simply whether they were good at coping with vegetarians.
I was concerned that being by the river we would be plagued by mossies, but neither of us were bitten at all.
The hotel is away from the centre of town, but I am not sure how far as we were driven everywhere by tour bus.
If I wanted a chill out break, relaxing by the pool, then I would certainly consider this hotel.

An older hotel overlooking the river with a nice pool. Comfortable rooms, basic breakfast, within walking distance of the Blue Temple. Get Uber to the night Bazaar for 55b. I recommend you stay at the The Dusit Island Resort.....a much nicer hotel and under 2500b if you forego breakfast whereas this hotel cost me 3400b

Room Tip: Highest level River view

This beautiful resort is located just a short distance from down town Chiang Rai on the bank of a peaceful river. It is quiet and the country location makes for a true resort experience. The rooms are large and decorated in a modern Thai style. This resort has all the amenities with the addition of country river side walking paths. The breakfast room was bright and cheerie with western and Asian cuisine. The staff was welcoming and accommodating. The only draw back is the early 7:00pm pool closing making it difficult for tourists to return in time to enjoy.

Room Tip: Choose a room facing the pool and river.
