The One Hotel is suitable for a one night stay before heading over to Koh Samui. It is clean, but dated. The room was large, but less then spectacular, with décor leftover from the 80's. The staff was friendly and helpful, but did not speak very good English. Dinner in the restaurant was decent, but the breakfast was just passable. Still, the price was cheap, and the hotel arranged a van for the trip the next day to Koh Samui.
If you are looking for a cheap place to spend the night, as I was, then the One Hotel is ok. If you are going to spend a few days, then I would look elsewhere. The neighbourhood has no ambiance at all. I went for a walk that evening at around 8pm, and found almost nothing open.More
