The rooms are big, with AC that works a treat, nice bed and decent bathroom. It is very much a no frills place, so if you're looking for luxury this isn't it. However if you need a decent place for a night in Surat Thani for a decent price, this is it.

Good if you have no other options and are just staying the night.... Room had the appearance of being clean but was not after looking around more. Seriously slept on top of the sheets with my scarf wrapped around me. Probably the worst nights sleep ever, I couldn't wait to wake up and leave in the morning! Heard traffic noise all night long, and the bed was super hard and uncomfortable. Did not even think about showering here. We tried walking around the area to find a restaurant or any food for the evening and all we could find was a 7/11. Front desk wasn't helpful with arranging a ride to the airport, finding somewhere to eat, or anything else. One night at this place is enough.

Centrally located in Surat Thani, this old hotel is a offers free parking, a restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with a cable TV. The hotel is a 5-minute walk from the Night Boat Pier, where guests can travel to Samui, Phanyan and Koh Tao. It is a 25 minutes drive from Suratthani Airport. The Clean big room is simply furnished with large window, a fridge, telephone and private bathroom with a shower. The Tapee restaurant serves a variety of Thai and Chinese dishes but closed early. In-room dining options are also offered. Out of the hotel walk across the street to the left and junction turn right 5 mins walk to the night market which start around 5.30pm....lots of local street food till late. 7/11 and family mart is nearby too, the hotel sell drinks and beer which is only about 5 to 8 baht different from mini mart. In the morning there are few local stall selling nice breakfast. Overall, it can be old but staff is nice and price for a night is reasonable, with working air con, hot shower and good wifi. No complaint at all for the price paid.

This is a review purely for the reception staff. After staying at the CBD the night before we had our plane tickets to print and a flight to catch. The CBD hotel refused to print our tickets and pointed us in a vague direction to get them printed. We thought we'd take a chance round the corner at tapee. Despite not having stayed there the staff were very friendly and helpful. Printed out our tickets and organized a taxi for us. Thank you again!

Okay if you aren't looking for a fancy hotel. Quite cheap. Stayed here when I was waiting on the boat to koh-phangan. People in the reception helped up with booking the ferry and a car picked me up the next morning. The nightmarket is quite close which is nice to visit in the evening, as there isnt so much else to do in Suratthani. Paid 550 baht for a room for two with ac. Not the cleanest but everything was working and the staff were friendly and helpful even though they didn't really speak much english. I came with a bus from the airport and was dropped of somewhere quite close to Tapee. There were a lot of taxi drivers waiting when I was dropped off but Tapee is in walking distance so don't bother negotiating the price with the drivers.
