Good hotel well located on a beautiful and quiet beach. Good sized rooms which are well maintained although overall the hotel is starting to show its age a little. Regular shuttle bus to the town (5 mins away) for lots of eating places. Otherwise would recommend the Sunset beach bar (10 mins along the beach to the left) for one of the best cheap meals that we had during our month in Thailand. Don't be put off by its basic appearance it is Thailand after all!
We would recommend this hotel and would stay again.

i stayed here in november and doubled up with my sister's booked room (i was escaping the floods in bkk with a few days spare before getting the first available flight back to work - chaing mai). the hotel could not have been more accommodating - the rooms are luxurious, spacious and so clean. food is superb, beach is wonderfully clean and quiet and the staff are so helpful and friendly. yes, it is out of town, but it is easy to get into town for shopping (hire a bike or get the hotel song taw). what i like most is that this hotel is thai owned, thai run - none of your corporate stuff! value for money, well now you are talking.

Room Tip: i would go for ground floor with access to pool and garden - they are all well built so no noise from next door room, maybe second floor more panoramic views out to sea?

Stayed 4 nights recently with wife. Nice spacious clean room and convenient walk to a beautiful uncrowded beach. Great for privacy and romantic get-away. Excellent breakfast and nice little pool to relax. Only problem is the distance of hotel from town and restaurants so have to depend on hotel taxi shuttle. Basic facilities and choice of F&B but can't have it all.

We have been 7 times at the Orchid Beach since it re-opened after the Tsunami. It continues to be a wonderful place; quiet, off-the beaten-track, allowing long beachwalks without disturbance by beach-vendorsetc., and with a wonderful restaurant at the beachfront. One should know that there are no shops or other restaurants within an easy walking distance, but there is a half-hourly shuttle service to the more touristy areas in Bang Niang an Nang Thong.
