Me and my friend stayed for several nights in hotel flamingo in between a safari and trekking. Very helpfull friendly staff, especially the manager who arranged several times transport for us. Decent and clean rooms and simple breakfast for a really good price. Located near the central market.

Every time I'm in Arusha, I stay at Flamingo. The rooms are clean, comfortable and simple. Rooms facing the street have balconies- you may have more noise from the street but at night the neighborhood is pretty quiet. I usually fall back to sleep after the morning call to prayer.
It is easy to walk to just about anywhere in Arusha from there. If you do need to go further, there is a taxi stand near by. Quick walk to the bus stand.

This is a budget place; there are no frills, but the price is unrivaled, and everything is spic and span. The staff prepare a lovely breakfast, are always friendly and if they don't understand you, they will immediately refer you to the manager. The manager, Ian, is a great character, who will help you resolve all your queries above and beyond the call of duty, i.e. give you all the info you need to fully enjoy Arusha. We had only booked it as a cheap station on our way to our Safari, but we ended up loving everything about it - including the neighbourhood, which was authentic, colourful and exciting. OK, it's next to a Mosque, so be prepared for an early morning call.. but truth be told we never managed to sleep much beyond 6.00 am anywhere we went in Tanzania really.

Room tip: I suppose the further away from the Mosque, the better, but I think there is no escape from the call to prayer anywhere in Arusha...

This is a very good place to stay if you want something on a budget, but also want something privat. The rooms are very nice, clean, have a tv (with HBO) and a nice private bathroom. The staff is very helpful. It is located right in the city center, which was very good.

It is clean with comfortable beds. The breakfast is simple but good. It is 2 blocks from the bus station, not far from the Clock Tower. Plenty places to eat and shop in the neighborhood, although it is not advised to walk around much in the evening. Best to take a taxi.
The staff is very friendly. I can just recommend it if you don't mind to wake up early to the muezzin.

Room tip: The wifi doesn't work on the second floor
