Nice park for a walk, break from beach. 25€ entrance, chose the long trail that took 2-3 hrs round. No guide so we saw plenty more that a noisy group will. Take your camera, not just the phone... saw what we came for...

This very unique palm forest is actually a real '' jungle'' !! The Valleé de Mai is located at the heart of Praslin island, the pearl of this ancient forest of course is absolutely unique coco in the world - Coco de Mer. You should definitely see it with your own eyes. We were extremely lucky, because our guide Paul (a real professional !!) shared incredible stories and facts about Coco de Mer and also all other flora and fauna of the forest. We even heard a song of Black Parrot !

Well worth the trip and the tour
Lots of information on the tour and points out all the different types of palm as well as some wildlife (most of which you can hear but not see!!)
...and there's also the unmissable Coco de Mer photo op ;)

We took the 9am free guided tour which was well worth the entrance fee (which is 100% dedicated a to conservation both here and on the atoll) to really learn about the area and the different Palms and coco de mer. The tour takes an hour and you are then free to enjoy the trails yourself. It's exceptionally well run and UNESCO should be proud, our tour guide was excellent, the trails and easy and the beauty of this Jurassic age forest is really uncomprehensible. If you enjoy nature and waking then this is a must see highlight of our holiday for us

Visited in Dec 2017. This place is so well kept, exceptionally clean. We hired a car for the day and drove ourselves there. There is a car park opposite with plenty of parking. The entrance has a lovely restaurant or you can buy drinks etc to take in with you. Please wear mosquito repellent as there are a few in there. You can choose to pay for a guide, but we like our own space so chose to go it alone. You are given a map which was very easy to read with great info. The forest is well sign posted. You can choose different routes around the forest to see different nature. We, sorry (my husband) decided to give the long route a go but it was well worth it, with beautiful views and we even got to see the Black Parrots.
A lovely visit.
