Theatre at Caesarea National Park
Ranked #4 of 14 things to do in Caesarea

Well worth a visit and a most enjoyable morning out on our way up the north coastline. Great views although rather breezy with the wind coming off the sea but kept us cool. Will be definitely returning.

The best way to experience the roman-designed amphitheatre and the harbout is how Israelis do: instead of a morning tour, book yourself tickets for a local music concert at night (they run almost year-round and you'd be well advised to book early because tickets sell out even weeks in advance to the top local bands and artists). Come for a late lunch or early dinner, walk around the harbour, and enjoy the show with thousands of locals dancing into the night.
tip: if you have a bad back or require comfortable seats, book the "orchestra" front of stage seating, not the upper steps. The experience of good music enjoyed by thousands is phenomenal and completely unique and removed from that of generic mega-concerts in stadiums (not for kids). Another tip: make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes, no heels!

The Roman Empire has left so many grand examples of its culture all around the Mediterranean..theaters,temples,aqueducts bath houses, to remind us of its grandeur..At the expense of the nations conquered. The theater in Caesarea is one of many.nice location, partly restored, used for live music on the stage, it can baffle your imagination

Ancient artifact is now used for concerts, etc. It is the best of both worlds. Facing the Mediterranean it could not be planned any better. Because of the concerts, etc this is more than a tourist attraction. Interesting!
