This monument Tugu Pahlawan or Heroes Monument, is the symbol of Surabaya and is built to respect the heroes who fought for independence. This rocket-like monument points towards the moon 41.15 meters high. Along with the monument, there is a museum where diorama of Surabaya in 1945 is displayed. History of Surabaya at that time could be seen through pictures, clips, and stories. There are other buildings surrounding the monument to depict the struggles Indonesians had to go through.
Nice place to visit, Free entrance

Learn our own history is a must. Respect for all who died in the battle. Tugu Pahlawan aka Heroes Monument is a great place to learn about Surabaya history. Clean, simple and calming. We visit here with a free tour called Surabaya Heritage Track from House of Sampoerna, the guide explained so much about this place and also every spot along the road.

Tugu Pahlawan is a monuments to honoring all of heroes that died during the independant war. This monuments stand up straight behin the statue of Indonesian 1st President and vice President (Soekarno and Moh. Hatta)
Inside the monument area you can find old classic cars, and in the museum you can find old guns, canon, or others that has been used during the war.
But it is a pitty that this museum is not well taking care. Some facilities not working.

I hope the management can pay more attention of the display and other not working facilities.
