First impressions: nice and modern, clean and not quite busy considering it's in one of Indonesia's batik capitals. The lounge is chic but it is quite annoying having to pass through three more doors to the main building where the rooms are. After an hour though, you begin to notice a bunch of annoying things: bugs in the bathroom corner walls, unswept hair and dust balls (I have an almost shaved head), an almost empty roll of tissue paper without a replacement, what seem like used complimentary toiletries on the bathroom sink, paint damage and just poor construction finishes all over. It's a pity because this hotel has good bones. They need to train their cleaning staff well and to be more mindful of renovations, repairs and not to let small details go since these will easily cost more to repair in the long run. Thankfully, the staff are quite helpful and friendly, and the food is mostly enjoyable. The location is also a big plus as it is near some must-visit sites.

While traveling through Solo with my significant other, we found this hotel online and initially were very interested.

Upon asking about the price of the rooms (as per the rates we found online) the receptionist was extremely rude. He immediately offered a room at the rate of double the price listed online. When we asked about the online rates he demanded to see our marriage license, and insisted that he could not book us a room at the lower price unless we could prove our marriage.

Needless to say, we were not interested in staying at a place that is so unprofessional and frankly, unkind.

We found a better hotel, with better hospitality, for the price of what this hotel was listed for online.

We advise to all travelers, especially couples, that you check out any other hotel in the area.

As shari'a hotel, those who come as a non married couple, might not be able to stay.. Really good hotel for such affordable price, strategic location, cozy and spacious rooms.. Recommended for family. It's managed by Horison, which is great. I wishing larger parking space and adding more floor so I could stay in higher room where I will able to seeing a better city view of Solo..
