We can reach this palace with private vehicle or public transportation. They provide guide to give information related the place, the tradition or the items, but i do not know how much cost for the guide. We can learn history by visiting this place. By the way, it is better to wear shoes than sandals, because to enter the yard we should wear shoes or take off our sandals and go barefoot to the yard.

Quite place to explore (weekdays always the best!). I think it would be better experience if I asked for palace's guide. You could take a picture together with the guard in front of palace.

Be aware of the opening hours as they can close early afternoon.
We were told we needed a tour guide to view the palace so the cost was 90,000IDR. This was excellent, the guide (Dodi) spoke very good English and knew a lot about the palace and the king. Would definitely recommend. We found this better than visiting the Kraton.

Worth to visit as one of Indonesia heritage places in Solo. It is a palace and residential of King of Hamengku Buwono and well connected to a palaxe in Yogyakarta.

We visited this place & got one English-speaking guide. He explained everything quite well. And then when it was finished, we continued by ourself to see the museum. The collection was nice, giving some new informations to our children. One thing that disturbed us was about the photos taken outside and inside the palace. After the visit, some people pushed us to buy the photos. In general, it was a short visit for us. One hour maximum.
