You can choose to do nothing and simply relax by the pool and have meals delivered to the villa or walk 10mins out to the main road for shopping. Would have liked if lights leading down the steps to the villas were little brighter. Room was spacious and grounds well kept. First time in Bali and enjoyed the time there .. will return again.

We stayed at Aria for two nights in September - it’s a lovely tranquil hideaway that’s actually quite difficult to find. It’s tucked away down a driveway off a busy local road. Once in the villa you’re in a very peaceful world although you can still hear some tooting of car horns out on the street. It’s nice that there is a reminder that you are still in Ubud.

Once there I didn’t want to leave the villa and didn’t have any reason to either as all food can be served in the outdoor dining area.

My favourite aspects of the villa were the pool and outdoor bathtub. It’s all very thoughtfully designed and laid out. We stayed one night at the sister hotel next door - Origin. Although Origin is also lovely I preferred Aria.

It gives me no pleasure in writing this lukewarm review. We had an amazing time here 2 years ago and decided to return.

The beautifully architect-designed villas still have the same breathtaking views of the tropical rainforest. As I said in my previous review, there is something soothing about all that greenery.

Unfortunately, several aspects of our stay was not as seamless as our last. Service is patchy and inconsistent, with some staff coming across as untrained whilst other old faces are fabulous. But despite this, staff are all still very friendly and willing to help. We had turn down on 1 of the 4 nights we were there. We received 1 set of popsicles one afternoon and nothing on the other afternoons. One morning, one of the breakfast orders were incorrect (we didn't bother sending it back knowing how busy they were).

The villas seem pretty full when we were there and they did not seem to have enough staff to deal with the guests, especially at reception. Speaking of which - there ought to be a bell or something discreet to get someone's attention with at the reception area without having to poke your head into their office behind the wall to speak to someone.

Maintenance is also an issue as the villas are beginning to show wear & tear (eg: cracked tiles, broken bedside lamps).

Knowing how good this used to be, we will probably not return given the current level of service.

Position is wonderful, far enough away from the main road and congestion to be peaceful, yet only 7 minutes walk and you are in the heart of Ubud. Staff were outstanding and the service was 5 star. very private and relaxing setting made this stay really special.

Room Tip: All great though room 1 is possibly the most private.

Modern design, no communal food areas, always served in your villa (normally outside).
I was surprised about how few bugs there were. A few more flies and mozzies came out after it rained, but the room remained free.
If you want a long bath or shower (outdoor) and are concerned about mozzies, you can ask the staff to light a mozzie coil in your bathroom area.
We loved the outdoor bath, it was amazing.
All the staff are incredibly kind, generous and happy.
We got several shuttles to the yoga barn free of charge, they were very accommodating.
An information nor on privacy- They are set up with villas at the top level, with your room and infinity pool over looking the trees, and a high wall footpath between them and the lower level villas, which are shaded more by the trees, but much more private (no walkway, ppl can only see in once they enter your villa through your private gate). I was in the top level villa and swimming in my private pool in beautiful sunshine, but when I got out, my top half was in view of the walkway in between the villas. It was still in view when I sat down at my Al fresco dining out lounge on the outdoor couch. About 1 staff every 15 minutes would walk past to another villa and be able to see us / look up at us with a smile. This is friendly, but not so nice of you and your partner want to feel secluded, and possibly so of your clothes every now and then.
So if you want privacy in your pool and outdoor area, I suggest requesting a villa that is on the bottom level, or maybe just not villa #2 as I think that has the most staff traffic past it, as it is the first villa after you enter.
Pool note - I don't think they are heated, it was chilly, I only felt comfortable swimming in it when the sun was out (but I'm a bit soft, so not everyone will have a problem with this).
Location - sooo calm and less touristy part of town. I loved it. The streets within 1km of the Monkey Forrest feel more like Kuta, this (the north east) is the chilled side of town. It's a 10 minute walk to the busy bit when you feel like a bit of shopping or food etc
I'll still be going back to Aria villas if I visit ubud again.

Dear brett y,

Warmest greeting from Aria villas Ubud
Thank you for taking your valuable time to share your experiences and review of your recent stay on TripAdvisor,
We are delighted to know you enjoyed the villa and services offered during your stay.
You are right that there no communal food are in our villa as we offer privacy to our guest so everything will be served in the villa even the massage. In regards of privacy all villa are designed with privacy for the comfortable stay however due to able to enjoy an obstructive view from your infinity villa you will see our staffs walk along the pathway. we do apologize for this inconvenience and of course it would become a valuable input for us to improve the privacy for our guest. For your next stay we recommend you to take our Valley pool villa as it is more private but less sun shine however if you would like to have sun shine all the day the Terrace ( upper level) would be the best one.
Due to Aria villas is located by the valley and make the pool bit cold in the morning and at night however it would be perfect in the afternoon especially after having the outside activities, it would make you so relax and fresh.
On behalf of the team allow me to invite you and try our Valley pool villa for your next visit soon.

Thank you and regards
Made and Team
