“Beautiful gardens on the outside, old, worn-out rooms and moldy bathrooms on the inside...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 March 2012

My husband and I spent 3 nights there. We were amazed at the beauty of the gardens, pool and overall amenities, but unfortunately the rooms inside were another story. Old and dirty sheets with footprint marks on them, and an even older looking and worn out bathroom with walls, ceiling and shower curtain full of mold and clogged drains. At breakfast the food was good, but again hard to enjoy due to the stains and overall dirtyness of the tableware.

Definetly not worth it.

This hotel is in a great location and looks good superficially. The grounds are lovely and the rooms look good in the photos and from afar. However, my room was very musty (as were others I asked to see), and the bathroom mediocre/poor for what I'd expect. Also make sure to check whether they're doing construction near your room. When I was there over a weekend, they were working literally outside my bedroom window from 8:30am - 5pm on Saturday and Sunday (sawing and hammering tiles). The hotel was unsympathetic about the construction noise. The breakfast was quite good and the pools were very attractive, but I think there are better places nearby for the price. Kajane Mua right down the street looked better.

Room Tip: Further from Monkey Road is better but make sure you're not near where they're doing constru...

We had stayed here previously and decided to return.
Check-in was awkward as although we had booked online in October 2011, mentioning we would arrive slightly early, Madame on reception had nothing ready for us. We happily went for a long lunch at Lotus Lane Restaurant down the road and returned at 3pm to find our bags still sitting in reception and front desk staff apparently busy.
We expected a great room as they had taken 5 months preparing it for us :)
We had to wait again for 'the boy' (as all the staff called him) to collect our cases and show us to a room which although OK was a bit dark inside. It was not the deluxe room with a view I believed I had booked and paid for.
5 minutes later we were shown to another perfectly lovely much better airy room with a private balcony & great garden view.
After this everything was fine and everything went uphill - the room staff were very polite, considerate and cheerful.
Here I have to mention Made our housekeeper who WOWED us with his amazing towel sculptures.
We also had a good massage in the salon down by the pool, loved the secluded pool.
Breakfast was also good and generous - a la carte sometimes & buffet others.
Good coffee.
Great location on the main street - a short walk downhill to visit the monkeys & uphill to visit the market / temples.
Gazillions of shops, restauarants, cafes nearby.
Yes I would go back there again, as it is a lovely place with a great garden and overall we appreciated and enjoyed the ambience and hospitality.

Room Tip: if your room does not seem to be suitable, don't be scared to ask if something else is available...

We stayed here 1 night I would not stay here again the rooms are so run down. We always like to stay in places u choose to remember the thought of returning to the room
After a day out was depressing. Service at reception was poor and unfriendly, requests were not met until we attended front desk and stood in front of them. Would of been beautiful rooms 10 years ago! Great location the grounds and pool etc were lovely but unfortunately u don't sleep outside! Staff at restaurant amazing and groundsmen lovely concierge hmmm not so! Plus side location and the fact we were there only 1 night! Definately not worth what they charge!

We stayed there Jan 2012 for 2 nights in a deluxe room. Nice doors but is just locked with a padlock, so not really safe! Our room was big and nice, the only thing that should be done is an upgrade of the bathrooms as they are old and dirty compared to the rooms and a safebox would be good to have! Beautiful garden, with two separate infinte swimming pools.

Very central location in Ubud, 5 min walk from the monkey park, lots of shops, restaurants, bars around.

Tip: check your bill in any restaurant around as we had the case they tried to surcharge us twice!
and negociate all prices of souvenirs!

Room Tip: Try to not have the rooms just next to the river as it might be smelly and noisy.
