“Old Monkey Forest - A Better Choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 June 2012

Was excited when we saw the monkey forest in Ubud but our driver told us the old monkey forest is much better. It's managed by the local village and the people there are very friendly too. You can also have photos taken at minimal fee. Old monkey forest is less crowded and you get to enjoy all the monkeys to yourself as there are so few tourists around

It is nice to meet monkeys around you, especially for first time.
Just go without bags, glasses, earrings,...

“Cool park w/ crazy monkeys!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2012

Great, easy, cheap way to interact with monkeys and feed them. Keep your little kids away from the bananas - monkeys will go to any lengths to get bananas. But its really fun and a cool place to walk around

“Monkeys in an open forest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 June 2012

The monkeys are free to come and go, they are not in cages. Some people sell bananas at the entrance to give the monkeys. Beware, monkeys can be aggressive and have very sharp teeth. They will not hesitate to climb on you and bite you if you are not giving them the food fast enough. They can also steal your glasses or other things so pack your belongings in your backpack. They have no fear of humans so you can take very good up-close photos. Overall a good experience in a nice forest.
