We decided to do this route on bikes rather than on foot. Great fun and great views of the rice fields! Plus there's a good cafe at the top of the hill for a refreshing drink.

If you cycle you can continue in a loop around the rice fields back through the South of Ubud.

Only warning if you cycle is there are a few steps to start where you'll need to carry the bikes.

Went there for a walk just before sunset. A nice view of the rice fields and the forest from the top of the hill. The walk was about 2km. Bring water! Recommended activity for about an hour.

Ideal with children as it is car/motorbike free, beautiful walk to go to Ubud (maybe around 40 minutes). Arriving in Ubud, you can either go to the famous market, or take Kajeng avenue on your left (lovely streets with small restaurants and shops), that will lead you to another very nice walk completly in nature/forest/along a river! Enjoy!

We were staying close to the walkway, so it was very nice for a short (!) morning walk, but if you're expecting a beautiful vista of paddy fields off into the horizon you'll be disappointed.

Packed with people and mopeds beeping at you to get out of the way. There is only a small terrace of paddy fields, the rest of the way is undergoing major development and building. People shout at you to buy their stuff every ten paces. Not relaxing, or worth it.

Gorgeous views. Also backs up to some residences which shows a little of Balinese architecture. We also flew a drone while walking and got some awesome shots of the exotic landscape. Highly recommended. All paved, no big hills, easy for kids (not that we had any with us...) and dumps you out back in Ubud (the direction we went.)
