“Not great, superb!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

We loved it! Simple menu, a welcome relief to come across a restaurant in Bali that does not try to recreate every culinary delicacy known to man, but rather, combines clean fresh ingredients to great effect. Simple menu is a feature, choose: rice or noodles, meat, poultry, fish or tofu, optional addition of coconut milk...hey presto, we have a bowl of scrummy curry goodness. Don't even get me started on the desserts. The chef, from Laos and his lovely wife from France who is the face of the establishment, combine the best of both worlds by fusing the asian inspired mains with the sweet Parisian fare for dessert: your choice of a crepes or creme caramel (with an optional Balinese twist of coconut cream). One special dish, depending on the chef's mood, provides all the variety you need. Our favourite restaurant in Ubud, brilliant value. Book to avoid disappointment, very busy between 7-8pm.

“a gem in a quiet one way street”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 April 2012

We had dinner here with a friend who lives in Ubud.
We booked about 3 days in advance for a Sunday night meal.
Our local friend said the meals were really good and not nearly as expensive as other restaurants that tourists frequent. (However the restaurants where locals eat are still cheaper).
We chose our meals from the menu on the blackboard and thoroughly enjoyed them.
Our bill for 5 drinks (spirits and mixers) and 3 main meals was about 380,000 Indinesian Rupee which is less than $40 Aussie. Not bad for a night out.

“Good not great”

This is an inexpensive restaurant with a very limited menu. The food is well prepared. While we enjoyed the experience, it does not deserve a number 1 rating.

“"Super Friendly"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2012

Good:
- Super friendly lady boss & staffs who makes you feel very warmed and welcomed
- Only 8 tables but the place is very cosy
- It's only 6mths old, the place is as new as my new Hard Rock T-Shirt
- Good taste curry
- Foods are all nett price (& not overly price) with no 10% tax whatsoever

Not so Good:
- Too much vege on my curry rice (maybe they shld have given me more meat), lols
- Might have to wait a while for your turn to have a seat in case the restaurant is full and all tables are taken up

“Short menu not short on flavour”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2012

Open Tuesday thru Sunday this stylish eight table restaurant serves up a fine fare that will leave you wanting to make a reservation for the following night. Everything is done right starting with the chalk board menu that details the day's choices, all fresh. The kitchen is responsive and knows how to pair flavour combinations without complicating the presentation.
We arrived to a full restaurant hoping a table would turn quickly. Although a number of tables had completed dessert we were invited to join a local couple at a larger table. The gesture helps define the restauant. Locals know that more people who can eat here, the happier Ubud will be.
The proprietor, Geraldine, runs a tight ship ensuring customers are satisfied and meals are delivered to the tables perfectly.
When the bill arrived we were amazed to discover how truly affordable our dining experience was. Next time we'll make a reservation.
