We stayed at Ubud View Bungalows for 2 weeks in July and August. We booked our trip at the last minute and took the only room left, a third floor room (T1 on their site) with rice paddy view, AC, and mini bar (really just an empty mini fridge) for 500,000 rupiah. The good: pretty setting, nice pool with cushioned lounges, breakfast served on your balcony, and an excellent larger balcony with a great view of a local farmer working on his rice paddies below. Good location near the bottom of Jalan Hanoman, which we preferred over Monkey Forest Road for nicer shops, less crowds while still having everything you need. Friendly staff who booked tours and drivers for us - drivers were all good, taking us only the places we requested, always arriving early. The not so good: really hard mattress ( asked for the only extra pillow they had, and it helped a little), decor in the rooms could be less plain, typical curtainless shower so you will have a wet bathroom floor if not careful, a little far to get to the top of Monkey Forest Road/Jalan Raya area. Wish the chairs outside had cushions as we spent a lot of time hanging out there. We found that in July the third floor was breezy and we really didn't need the AC. Windows do not have screens, but mosquitoes surprisingly were not an issue and we kept them open most nights. If you are a light sleeper you will hear frogs, the occasional dog barking, and of course the roosters, as you will probably anywhere in Ubud, and you might find turning on the AC helps to drown out the noise. For 500,000 rupiah it is not a bad deal, for a cheaper room without AC, this place is a great value. TIPS: 2 nearby places will refill your large water bottle with purified water so you waste less plastic: Gula Bali across from Ryoshi , near where Jalan Hanoman and Monkey Forest Road curve to meet ( 2000 rupiah and they also have great, cheap Indonesian food in a cute modern setting), and KAFE, about 3 minutes walk up Jalan Hanoman (3000 rupiah). Near Gula Bali is also a great tailor, Sunari, who custom made a long, zippered skirt for me using fabric I bought from the market, for only 120,000 rupiah. Enjoy Ubud!
