This tour was fantastic. In a group of 4 we visited an organic farm seeing cocoa, pepper, chilli, sugar cane and Bali coffee plants as well as many others. Then breakfast overlooking Mount Batur and Batur Lake. Then on the bikes for an amazing (mostly) downhill trip through friendly villages. Nyoman, the guide and owner was a wealth of knowledge and very informative about the surrounds and Bali way of life. Tour finished as guests in Nyoman's own Bali compound house with a fantastic spread of traditional, delicious Balinese food. This tour is fantastic value but the real value is to experience the area with a local. Also you are supporting a genuine Bali small family business not a big international company. Highly recommended!

Our family has just returned from Bali and Jegeg was recommended to us by friends What a fantastic day out. To really see the true Balinese way of life and see the country side this is the best tour, experienced guides showing us the views, explaining the cultural aspects in the villages and family compounds, the rice fields, coffee plantations, Lake Batur and especially lunch at the family compound with cycling thrown in was a wonderful experience that we will recommend to family , friends and anyone else heading to Bali. Perfect for all ages...Will do again when we return....

Pros: Moon, our bike guide was excellent. The ride was scenic and lovely. We had a nice breakfast on the caldera of the Baltura volcano. Then we got on our mountain bikes and headed mostly downhill through the rice paddies and the Ubud countryside. We finished off he trip with a lunch at at the owner's residence. While I have no reservations of expats opening businesses in Bali, this company is local and Balinese owned.

Cons: The bike helmets did not feel so sturdy.

Summary: Escape the chaos of city life for a day and take this bike tour. It is excellent.

We found out about this cycling tour company through tripadvisor and the reviews do not lie!

We were supposed to be picked up at 645AM but the transport arrived only at 745AM. However, it wasn't their fault because somehow, there are two resorts in Seminyak with the same name! Odd.

After pick up, it was an hour drive to our first stop just north of Ubud which was something like a farm with lots of plants. Our guide was Moon who showed us the different types of plants grown there, as well as three civet cats. These cats are used to make the uber-expensive Luwak Coffee. We were given cups of tea and coffee such as Balinese coffee, hot choclate, ginger tea. The Luwak Coffee wasn't free.

After that, we went up to have a nice view of Mt Batur, which is the second tallest volcano on the island of Bali. Brunch was served, which was simple but okay. Got to watch out for the flies.

Thereafter, we headed out to start the cycling. By then, it was about 1045AM and the sun was really out. I strongly recommend bringing sun block lotion, a cap or hat, and something to cover your arms. Was seriously burnt. So the cycling trip takes you about 28km, mostly downhill. Just some parts which required serious pedaling. Along the way, Moon showed us paddy fields, temples and houses. We happen to go past a paddy field where farmers were harvesting rice, and they were gracious enough to let us try it. I can say that farming isn't exactly my forte.

At the end of the trip, we went to Nyoman's home where we were introduced to his family and invited for a nice and filling Balinese lunch. It was a relaxing atmosphere and all seven members of the trip had a good time mingling and chatting. Nyoman also showed us how traditional Balinese compounds are designed and the reasons behind the designs.

Overall, this was a good way to really see the non-tourist side of Bali. You also get to immerse yourself in the culture.

I strongly recommend Jegeg Bali Cycling Tours.

An action packed day of Balinese culture, views, villages and food with some gentle cycling thrown in. Nyoman is a great guide, providing lots of cultural background and an insight into Balinese life. Cycling through villages and countryside was a fantastic way to soak it all up. We got to help some locals harvest their rice. The meal at the end in nyoman's family compound was a highlight. In a competitive market, nyoman's personal touch and dedication stands out
