Been there 2 years ago and it is much worse now with way to many turists and nature almost gone. I will never come back and will for sure try and find other rice places. It is only a “done that” thing now - very sad!

We had a lovely visit in the rice Terrace’s on our way to Ubud. The locals are very friendly and the views beautiful.

i went here with my family and i must say its a nice place, if you are only on holiday in Bali, there are so many of this places around all Asia, and i must say this is the smallest and most boring i've been to.

but as a first timer this is a great place, and good for an lunch too.

keep in mind, if you are going alone or with a tour guide, there is no payment for this place, do not pay for any ticket. ITS FREE.

looking for some good advice about travelling Asia, take a look at our blog.

We went to tegallalang when we were in Ubud last time, it was fun, but bit of dissapointment because many farmers were asking for donation!!!.
We paid entrance ticket was for 10k per person, but they said that not use in trekking route. We blocked by farmer as we paid less than “ a nomral “ donation. Actually this place was pretty, but then this made not really think we want to come back.

Look, you and I both wants to see beautiful natural rice fields yes? This is not the place. Its a money pit. Ok, you pay entrance.. Then 50 metres of walking more you "have to" pay a donation to see more.. So you feel ripped off but put it aside.. Walk 50 metres more and again another Border patrol local man, scamming you for more Donations. Otherwise you cant walk further.
Thats all i have to say.
