We stayed 10 blissful nights here in March, the start of a one month holiday in Indo. We paid approx 200/nt on booking.com, which really is incredible value for what you get. The hotel is uber stylish yet totally laid back. Views from our 4th level suite were magical, and over looked rice fields, coconut groves & mountains. Even more magical was the chorus of bird & animal life that sang through the night. Ahhhh. The room itself was lovely, huge balcony, super comfortable bed, great bath, massive shower, nice products & yummy homemade cookies :) We didn't experience the spa at Bisma, as for one massage there you could get about four really amazing massages in town. We took lots of day trips & tried many restaurants (check out my other reviews) & found the location to be perfect, & the shuttle service to be excellent! When we weren't exploring we were relaxing by the stunning infinity pool which felt like you were swimming into a lush jungle! The breakfast was epic, super fresh juice, fruits, pastries, omelets & pancakes..SO GOOD!
Leaving the best to last, we would have to say our favourite part of the Bisma experience was the most beautiful, smiling, friendly staff :))) Thank you for an incredible holiday & we hope to return one day very soon x

Room Tip: Don't bother with pool villa, get a suite on the 4th floor for best views!

we checked in to a suite room at the Komaneka at Bisma. the room was beautiful - large but not too big, with a generously sized bathroom and walk in luggage room. the bed was one of the most comfortable i have slept in!

The hotel is stunning, with moden architecture mixed with traditonal balinese influences. it overlooks some small rice fields directly below the hotel, and has a walking track which takes you through some of the forest and river area. the best thing about this hotel in my opinion, is the location. it is away from the busy town centre, and so is very quiet and relaxing, but is close enough that you can comfortabley walk there within 15-20 mins (and there is a complimentary shuttle service)

the hotel has some great services - offering afternoon classes (unfortunately we didn't attend any of them but would often see them in progress), a relaxing spa (a little more expensive than what you would pay externally, but worth it just for the level of service you are given), and a shuttle service that takes you into the main area of ubud. komaneka also have a number of other hotels within the ubud area and you are free to pick up the shuttle from any of these, or opt to have to have your complementary breakfast and afternoon tea at any of them.

the service was impeccable. balinese people are some of the nicest i have met! and special requests at meal times were accomodated wherever possible.

This hotel provides good service, is owned by locals and has some attractive features. These aspects give it a 'thumbs up'. Firstly the good aspects. Our room was large and had an attractive view over the small river and rainforest. There were also some great touches such as flower petals on the bed when we arrived and adequate lighting for reading. I also liked that the internet was free(although slow like everywhere in Bali) and that the bed was excellent with comfortable, high quality pillows. The breakfast staff knew our names each morning and a shuttle bus provided free, regular trips to town. There was also good comfortable seating in the room which made it a more enjoyable place than just a bed with one or two chairs- often the hotel standard. A nice balcony also made sitting outside, a pleasant experience. The breakfasts, in our opinions, were quite good and I think that this aspect may have been addressed, after some negative feedback on TA. Breakfast contained some good Indonesian selections as well as the usual Western choices. Afternoon tea was also a very nice addition with Bali and Western treats and decent tea and coffee. The large infinity pool was ideal for laps. The gym was also an added feature which we used each day. Downsides were that the TV reception was fuzzy and there were not many channels compared to other Bali good quality hotels in which we have stayed. Because the room was quite long, I also found it hard to see the TV from the bed at the other end of the room. On the upside, the Apple TV did have a great selection of movies and their quality was good. However, I prefer news and documentaries to movies. Another disadvantage was the expense of the Spa treatments. These were not more expensive that other good hotels but I do not know why hotels do not provide sale price treatments during the low season as the spa never seemed to be busy. We had excellent treatments at good independent places in Ubud for less than 25% of the price at the hotel. We would have preferred to stay here for them and had they been half the price, we would not have bothered going elsewhere. Similarly, the excursions and laundry were also many times more expensive that good services available elsewhere in town. Probably the hotel has done its sums and decided on these fees because people will pay them. On balance, I would recommend the hotel and certainly it is one of the ones to which I would return.

my husband and I had a wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel in ubud. amidst rice paddies, on a hillside, right next to campuhan river makes your stay more tranquil and serene. a symphony of crickets and frogs at night while you sit out in the balcony stargazing. fireflies sighted a couple of nights right below our bedroom. 15 minute walk to the monkey forest and the shops nearby. hotel has shuttle every hour to take you and from town. staff can help you with daytours. make sure to check on the complimentary activities e.g. birdwatching in petulu gunung village. food/restaurant is excellent. service super wonderful. staff are friendly and helpful. highly recommended and would stay here again.

Stayed two nights but could have stayed longer just to laze around in our beautiful room or by the infinity pool. Staff were exceptionally friendly and the room had some very nice touches like apple tv, free home made cookies, flower petals over the bed on arrival. It's a 20 min walk into town or get the shuttle. Make sure you do a walk around the rice fields... The hotels walk is expensive, we just happened to find a willing local which was fantastic. Eat at Bridges restaurant for something a little more special.
