Owner description: This small museum at the north end of Sanur Beach evokes a time of innocence and beauty before the introduction of relatively recent laws banning "immodest dress." Even more impressive than the paintings by the Belgian artist of the young Balinese dancer he married and her friends is the small mansion in which the art and artifacts are housed: a lovely example of Balinese architecture decorated with finely carved and gilded wooden shutters.

Priceless collections of painter Le Mayuer but unfortunately they are displayed in a deterioting building with inappropriate way of display. The museum needs a serious upgrade.

A great French artist ‘s former house converted to his memorial gallery- the artist who lived, painted, loved and died in Bali.

I would be ashamed to present a collection like this in a museum... It is such a nice house/garden and beautiful paintings , but the state of things is really terrible. Very disappointing.

This is a funny little place just off the beach. The building is beautiful and the gardens too. I enjoyed looking at the paintings, although the presentation is not great and the lighting doesn't help with looking at the art. But it's a fun detour if you're in Sanur. Gardens were the highlight for me.

I found this place to be very well worth the tiny entry fee.
The museum is the home of the artist and his Balinese muse.
Their presence was so strong, it felt like I was invading their privacy, bit of a spiritual experience.
The art is very nice. Someone told me after that the art is not the originals, which makes sense cos the home is right on the tropical beach.
Very nice experience for history and culture.

Thank greg b
