Unfortunately, not for the first time, I happen to visit Double Dutch Restaurant with the vague hope of enjoying a real Salsa night as promoted and promised.
But when I arrived at ten in the evening, there was no band playing and the sound from the system could just barely called latin - with a lot of godwill... 20 min later the Salsa Instructor couple decided finally to move to stage to excercise some new moves, but niothing to do with the guests, of course. Another 15 later finally the Band moved to the stage playing quite cool columbian sounds - but defintiely NOT Salsa. Nonetheless the couple did do a little dance with each other, deeply immersed in each others eyes... Next piece started to play, the couple walks to the restaurant and asks a young couple to dance. Now, the Restaurant at this time was full of people who were not a young and deepluy in love with each other couple so the choice was probably the worst - IF in case the Salsa Instructors REALLY wanted to motivate guests to dance - something I have my serious doubts. One dance later - still deeply immersed in each others eyes, the salsa Instructor couple retires to the back of the Restaurant to watch television - why care about some silly customers who might have come there to have a dance....
So sorry guys, but if you had the idea of having a happy Salsa Dance - forget it! And if you also hoped to have a decent glass of wine.... better forget it as well! There is only one wine they sell by glass and it hardly deserves the name! So welcome to Soda water and NO dance!

This is a nice restaurant located at the end of the sanur strip. It has a medium sized menu and is pretty expensive from sanur standards. Service is top class and staff are very attentive. The Restaurant also has free wifi access and a brilliant live band who play music from Dire Straights to Lionel Richie.

As we were getting ready to leave a close up magician came to our table to show us some magic. It was really good and a lovely touch to finish the evening !

Located on the main avenue in Sanur, the Double Dutch served the BEST barbeque ribs ever. Very inexpensive and a great menu. They have a dynamic cocktail listing, but both times we were there they were "OUT" of the liquor. Both times we went there, they had a band. Both of the bands were awesome, playing popular American/Western music, and they have a dance floor too. If you want entertainment, this is a great place to go.
