“Beautiful Hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 May 2012

This hotel is beautiful and luxury but it looks difficult to manage such a big hotel. The area is just fantastic and the beach is lovely. The food is really good. Be ready to walk 15min from your room to the beach depending on where your room is located. Shoping center 5 min away. Great place.

This is by far the most beautiful hotel property I have ever been to. The location, gardens, the beach, the pool and restaurants are all great. However, the rooms and the service are a joke. I booked 2 rooms for 2 couples and my 2 toddlers. I booked 2 Ocean View Kings for 1 week and specifically asked for the ground floor (as a safety with the kids). When we arrived, the hotel was half empty but they claimed they could only give us first floor rooms, it was smelly and dirty. The daily cleaning service was a joke. I kept complaining to reception...all very polite and acting shocked by what I was saying...nothing improved. Again, the property is beautiful but the service (mainly house keeping) was disgusting and hotel management did not do anything about it.
Another important flaw is the sound proofing of the rooms. I could hear my neighbor's conversations, I could also hear one of them snore, Same for my upstairs and downstairs neighbors. So, although the bed was comfortable, sleeping was hard. Over all I am very disappointed with this Hyatt. For me a chain should offer the same service level everywhere, this is the whole point for most people to be going for hotel chains...CONSISTENCY.

Hyatt just lost me as a customer.

Room Tip: Be Russian or Japanese, they seem to be getting special treatment due to the staff composition for t...

It is a beautiful resort, although must be about 25 years old, so some things are a little bit dated. The rooms were very nice (and modern) and large. The pools are huge, although a bit too warm to be refreshing. We stayed here for a conference, but got to use all the facilities.

The beach is one of the nicer (and definitely cleaner) ones in Bali too!

On the negative side, my first meal (although very tasty) left me very ill for a whole day. The management appeared to take this seriously and 'investigated',
They were very apologetic about this also. I'd been in Bali a week with no Bali Belly, so didnt expect it at the Grand Hyatt. After I recovered, all other meals were very tasty and quite reasonably priced.

A few minor issues like the hair dryer and iron being very poor quality.

The other issue was they charge for absolutely everything. Given the price of the rooms in the resort, i would have thought some of the 'extras' like using a mask and snorkel or tennis courts should be free, but no, they all have there extra charges. My girlfriend commented that it was cheaper in Australia to get some of the spa treatements.

Be prepared to walk. The resort is huge and no path goes in a straight line. They meander through the resort, around ponds and landscaped gardens. While these are nice to look at, you cannot get anywhere in a hurry.

The staff were uber-friendly and always had a smile.

Overall, (apart from getting sick), it is a really nice place to stay if you can afford it, but definitely better value for money elsewhere.

I stayed at this resort 12 years ago and recently returned for a 3 day stay. It remains a fantastic resort. The service is great, the grounds are beautiful. It has one of the best beaches in Nusa Dua and the swimming pool is great. The food is fantastic. The hotel organised a special barbecue by the beach for us which was delicious. The watersports centre staff is very helpful in organising tailor made activities. The only less positive comment I would make is that the rooms could do with some refurbisihing. The rooms are OK, but nothing spectacular. Also, in my opinion this is more a family type of resort. It has a nice playground for children and a kids club. Honeymoon couples looking for romantic quiet getaway may be disappointed.

We have just returned from another wonderful holiday in Bali. This time we decided to stay at the Grand Hyatt Nusa Dua. What a great choice! The resort was beautiful...the grounds, ponds and gardens are just glorious. The resort is massive, so be prepared to do some walking to the pools/ breakfast. But we didn't mind, as the landscape was picture perfect and you got to soak it all in. The room was spacious and clean with a good size bathroom. The turn down service was a nice touch with free bottled water. I always found the housekeeping staff to be very polite and thorough.
The beach was lovely and plenty of shade from the trees. The pools were large and interesting and the water slides were a great bonus. The only little thing I should mention was the temperature of the pool. It was quite warm. To be really enjoyable it should have been cooler as it was very hot out. There was never a problem getting a sun lounge at the pool or beach.
We had a lovely stay......and would consider going back next year.
