By far the best resort in nusa dua. Elegant and classy. The food wine and service was amazing. The Kayuputi restraint is world class, could return again and again. The first fine dining restaurant we have been to that caters to children.

Having almost a week at st regis bali and it just awesome.
The resort is absolutely great.
We stayed in one of the suites. The room is large with very detail decoration in it.
The landscape is also very well maintained. The beach is pristine and i think the best in Nusa dua area.
The lagoon pool is huge and really interesting. And the good thing is we hardly find other guest swim there,so this kind of our favorite spot during our stay there....
The breakfast at Boneka....Owhhhhhh...just out of this world. The food and the service was immaculate...Doni and other staff at Boneka relly doing a great job there.
Beside that, butler service is also a highlight during our stay. Our butler made and widya both are very friendly and helpful.
We also having dinner at Kayaputi restaurant. The view and ambiance here is stunning. The food also just perfect,in term of taste and presentation.Although its quite expensive but for sure its worth it.
Well ,after all I just highly recommended this hotel if you come to bali...we definitely will come back.

Room Tip: if you wine lover, buy some wine at airport duty free, because alcohol here or in bali generally is ve...

Spent 8 nights at the property in a 2 bedroom Lagoon Villa for my birthday. Also had a one bedroom Gardinia villa and two suites in the main hotel for other members of our party. This review covers all of these. Impressions:

1. Lagoon Villa (2 bedroom, #816): All it is cracked-up to be - very large, great bathrooms (in both bedrooms), separate kitchen and powder room. Easily accomodated 10 people for drinks etc. Outside equally spectacular with a large elevated cabana overlooking a private pool, sunbathing area and backing on to the extremely large salt water lagoon pool. Others have commented on privacy and, whilst it was not a problem for us, it is not 100% private as people swimming in the lagoon can glimpse into your backyard and the villa. We saw two couple swim past our villa in the time we were there, so not much of a problem for us. All in all, a wonderfully executed villa and, to my mind, the pick of the villas.

2. Gardinia Villa (one bedroom): Very nice with same cabana and private pool but not backing on to the lagoon pool. Otherwise very similar to the lagoon villa (i.e. excellent). If 100% privacy is a must, this is the one, but I would otherwise go for the lagoon villa.

3. Suites (in the main hotel building - both on the 6th floor): Very nice, very large. Bathroom essentially the same as the villas. ORdinarily, well worth the money, but I would avoid at present due to the massive construction underway next door. Noise was (reportedly) not a problem, but the view is depressing. This should have been noted by the hotel when I made the booking - seems unfair to me to pay full price for a view over a construciton site. Note, this is not an issue for any of the villas.

4. F&B: Very expensive wine, but that is common in Bali. Room services was good as was the Indonesian restaurant. Boneka, the main buffet type restaurant was fine, and I can see why relatively inexperienced travels rave about it. I thought it was a fairly standard Asian resort breakfast buffet, let down slighlty by the chefs who struggled to cook consistent egg dishes. In other words, absolutely fine but go to the Sukhothai in Bangkok or somewhere like that if you really want to see a "wow" breakfast, flawless executed. Service was also much poorer in that restuarant than anywhere else in the hotel. Fancy western resturant (starts with "K") was also good - had a nice birthday dinner (kudos to the manager who rectified a booking mistake by offering us some free champagne - mistakes happen but when staff (a) apologize and (b) offer a small guesture like this it goes a long way. Food was very good. Beach side bar was staffed by very friendly staff - kudos to them. Deli also had good food and great staff - was painfully slow at times though. All in all, a great place to eat.

Service: Really very good, I was impressed with the number of staff that knew my name after just a few days. Almost all staff seemed genuinely happy and wanting to please.

Spa: Reportedly good, although I didn't use others in the group did and loved it. Pricey, as one would expect.

Ambience: Real resort feel. Relaxed but still classy enough that one could dress up a bit for dinner and not feel out of place. Beach was also very nice, and a great way to spend the day.

Negatives: Not many, but I feel they reflect mainly on management, not the general staff or the resort itself. Breakfast could be better, as noted above. I was surprised not to get a note from the manager (or a small cake or something) on my birthday - most other hotels manage something and it costs very little. I felt nickel and dimed when charged over $200 for a small birthday cake (especially given my bill for the week was over $30k!). We also had a bbq for 10 in my villa (which was lovely) that resulted in 4 of us waking up with mild food poisoning in the morning (including me, on my birthday). I reported this to the butler with a request to speak to the manager but never heard anything else about it. Quite surprised about this. Also, very expensive generally but also inconsitently so (I thought the drinks i the bar were great value, wine was shockingly expensive etc).

All-in-all: Probably the best bet in Nusa Dua, probably in Bali. Highly recommended with the few points noted above.

Room Tip: Lagoon villas are the way to go. Beach villas have no particular advantage over the lagoon villas a...

Dear Stephen M

Thank you for choosing St. Regis Bali Resort as the venue of your birthday celebration.

In regards to the birthday cake, we would like to apologize for the oversight and the lack of recognition from our side on your birthday. This is not the standard we try to hard to maintain and thank you for bringing this up to our attention so we can rectify it immediately to avoid re-occurrence in the future.

Kindly be informed that the cake you ordered from our Deli was with specific flavor and size and it costs IDR 350,000 net. We found no record of your cake purchase of USD 200 nor do we have cake sold at that price.

We also understand that during the BBQ dinner in your Villa on 20 July 2012, you also brought some outside dishes to be served in addition to the food ordered from the Hotel.

Otherwise, we are very happy to learn that you are satisfied with the accommodation and the food and beverage we have to offer.

Once again we thank you for sharing your recent experience with us on TripAdvisor. We appreciate the constructive feedback given and will address and discuss with the team for improvement.

We look forward to your return patronage to Bali and St. Regis Bali Resort in the future.

Warmest regards

We have just returned after a five day stay at The St Regis Bali. We stayed in a Sky Garden Suite on the fifth floor. It was facing the ocean but we could not see it as the awning for the King Cole Bar totally obscured our view. The balcony area is set up in such a way though that it is enclosed with plants up to three metres in height, so any view would be minimal. After settling in the room we noticed that it was inflicted with the bane of many hotels in the tropics. A damp and musty smell. Unfortunately that also included the bedding which was also damp and impossible to sleep in without covering it with towels first. We informed our butler of the problem first thing the next morning and....problem solved. He was in our room within five minutes with keys to an alternative suite. This one being at the end of the floor so with no obstructions to the ocean view of about 120 degrees. No musty smell either.

We had dinner in Boneka Restaurant on our first night and the buffet that we ate at was first class. It reminded me of the Peninsula in Bangkok where you are given the option of table fulls of different delicacies in bite sized servings so you can leave after dinner not regretting that you missed out on something. Except that we had no room to sample all the desserts.
Breakfast in the same restaurant every morning was definitely the best that I have eaten, Anywhere. Enough has been written by other reviewers about it.
Lunch at Gourmand Deli was first class and dinner at Kayuputi was superb. The food, the setting, the staff were all on a par with any restaurant anywhere. In the world. The high tea at King Cole Bar was also a pleasant way to spend a couple of hours in the afternoon.
Other reviewers have pointed out what they consider the expense of meals in the hotel but I found them to be on a par with restaurants in other cities that serve vastly inferior food.

Remade spa was on a par with the other top spas in Bali but definitely at the top of the price range. The gym was spotless and the equipment was sufficient for anyone except the most hard-core gym junkie to keep up their fitness.

The grounds were imaculate and the swimming pool was like an endless swim through a tropical jungle. Without a crocodile or human in sight. And that is what people will either love, or hate about the St Regis. It is 124 villas and suites built on grounds that could cater for 500. There are enough bales and hammocks strategically placed around the ground to accomodate every resident twice over. If you are after a family holiday with interaction with people from other parts of the world then this is not for you. If you are a rock star looking for anonymity, or a hedge-fund manager hiding out from your boss, great.

The down sides to the hotel. They are building a Shangri-La on one side and another complex is nearing completion on the other. You are however totally unaware of this unless you are walking around the perimeter of the hotel, or perhaps if you are on the upper floors of the non-ocean facing wing. And the suites bar fridge. It would not be possible to have a smaller fridge. Like most people who are not at ease with the price of wine available in Bali we are quite happy to bring wine with us and pay the 'duty' at the airport. When you cannot close the fridge door if you put more than one bottle in it it makes it difficult. Do you keep the bottle with two glasses left in it in the fridge or a new one which will take eight hours to get to a suitable temperature? And where do you keep the sashimi and other delicacies that you buy at the deli to snack on?
Room service did a roaring trade keeping us supplied with ice and ice buckets.

I would definitely return when next having a holiday without my children but would pay the extra $100 a night for one of the titled suites which have the larger fridge.

Overall the friendliness and professionalism of the staff are what makes a lasting impression of a hotel on you and the St Regis Bali certainly is one to remember

We stayed in St. Regis Bali for 2 nights. Yeah they do have awesome Lagoon pool, private beach and wonderful bedroom. But the service is not that good. Their spa service people didn't exactly tell us what this package is offering. And it took 30 mins to deliver my fresh juice in the restaurant. The beach side beverage shop is VERY EXPENSIVE. In general, I think it doesn't worth.

Dear biancawang,

Greetings from the St. Regis Bali Resort! Thank you for taking the time to post your comment in regards to your experience of staying with us through tripadvisor.com

First of all, We would like to thank you for the compliment of our products and facilities but, however, we were also concerned that your entire stay with us wasn’t thoroughly enjoyable due to the lack of emotional intelligence from our staffs to respond to your needs.

It certainly did not represent our brand values as we at St. Regis understand the importance of fulfilling our guest’s expectations. Please be rest assured that I have personally followed this up with the department concerned. Immediate action has been taken to ensure this will not happen again in the future.

With this in mind again thank you for your feedback and thank you for considering The St. Regis Bali Resort . We do hope that we will have another opportunity to welcome you back to our resort with better impression on your next visit.

With best regards
