I first stayed at Poppies back in 1979. Memories of the hospitality lingered so I recently ventured back. I wasn't disappointed. There have been a number of additions since I was last there e.g. a pool and adjoining bar but the original attraction remained. The cottages are set out in a unique style. As mentioned in an earlier review, one of the main negatives is when you venture out into Poppies Lane. Motor bikes and cars tend to use the lane as a speedway and the traffic becomes a major hazard every time you step out of the Cottages area. Another recommendation is not to use any of the money changers in Poppies Lane as they tend to rip you off. A better option is the official money changer up on Beemo Corner.
