Just arrived home after 6 nights at the Ramada and my husband myself and the kids aged 4 and 2 are already talking about when we will go back. The hotel grounds are beautiful, the breakfasts amazing and the pool area everything that you need. The rooms are a little on the small side and could do with some updating but are clean, so if you are only in them at night like us, then it isn't too big a deal.
With small children the location was great. Not far from the airport, walking distance to Water Bomb Park and right on the beach which was west facing so the sunsets were spectacular. The food and drinks at the resort are more expensive than outside at other places but there is so much that is close it is not a problem. The only disappointment was our travel agent told us the kids club accepted children from the age of 3 but in fact it was from 5, with any younger children requiring their own personal babysitter. That being said it cost approx $10AUD per hr to have our two kids looked after, so just something to note. All in all it was a great place and I would go back.

It’s a huge property with a big swimming pool with a separate area in the pool for warm & cold Jacuzzi. Pool has a waterfall feature which adds to the beauty of the pool. Pool area overlooks the kuta beach from where you can have a wonderful view of sunset. There are Cultural events held at the poolside.
Rooms are very clean & neat.
Wharf restaurant has an excellent Romantic Area & also many weddings receptions are conducted here.
Theta Spa is an ideal experience to relax your body after non-stop shopping.
To get connected to the world; an internet room is available which is for 24 hrs. You can even rent a bicycle.
I just love staying in this hotel. It was an awesome experience. I would always make it a point to stay here on every visit to Kuta, Bali.

Spent 8 days in a family room with a friend and her 2 young children. The children were looked after by the beautiful Kids Club staff for a few days, and had so much fun they wanted to be there every day instead of being out with us. The breakfasts were beautiful, and our room and beds very clean and comfortable. The pool was never too crowded and we were always able to get a sun lounge. Easy walking distance along the beach to Discovery Centre, Matahari, Art Markets etc. Some nice restaurants within easy walking distance. Would definitely stay at this hotel again. No complaints at all.

Just got back from our stay at the Ramada in June 2011 and i can see where all the old negative reports stem from, but it seems the hotel has listened and fixed some of these issues, ie. airconditioning, room fixtures, staff etc..
We felt this hotel is at best 3.5 stars. rooms were servicable and cleaned regularly. Sure rooms were old style but everything worked ok. Beds good and grounds lovely.
Staff were genuinley friendly.
Rooms were noisy though with the sound of dragging furniture between rooms very apparent.
However our main issue was the cost of on site food and drinks near the pool which were massive and detract from having the odd beverage or snack. Dont even try the Wharf Restuarant or other night time dinners as they are some 300% over street prices.
Also to charge to use the tennis facilities is ridiculous.
Otherwise location is good with a supermarket and Atm outside, although Kartika Plaza is a mad as ever with traffic. Very close to the airport.
Not sure if we would stay again - may look at Santika or Kartika Plaza next time.

This was our fourth stay at ramada bintang. Our first stay was our honeymoon, then with one child, then three, then this time with my wife's father.
This place caters for all ages and tastes.
The buffet breakfast has something for everyone. The pool area is amazing. The beach area is the cleanest I visited this time. The rooms are good but probably needing refurbishment in the future.
The staff are, like everyone in Bali, friendly and very helpful. The kids club was also good by all accounts.
Whilst this isn't the only place that we stay at in Bali, we do make sure that we stay here every time we go to Bali.
Highly recommend for all families.
Only negative was the exorbitant charge for wifi. As a person requiring around the clock Internet access for business purposes, I was a little annoyed. At 70000 Rp per hour, when debris across the road offers free, this is something the hotel needs to look at.
