Although sunset may be the most romantic time for a lantern lit seafood dinner on the beach, a lunch time booking offers no crowds, the beach to yourself, and very little wait time for your meal.

New Langsam Cafe certainly doesn't look like much from the street- in fact I was hesitant to enter!- but I trusted our guide and he has been recommending this restaurant to all his clients.

The opportunity to choose your own food, watch it being cooked over the coals, then have it served up looking almost as good as it tastes was so memorable, I drool over the thought!!

We opted for the most elaborate share meal- lobster prawns clams rice fish-plus an extra 1kg snapper.
Each item is covered in a sauce- If you don't all enjoy sambal I suggest going half garlic and half sambal to keep everyone happy! Both were delicious.
We paid $200 Australian dollars for the meal, including tax, which served 4 adults and 2 kids (they have fries and kids options)

Can't wait to go back.

Very romantic - located on the Jimbaran beach with tables close to the water - however, the prices are a bit high for the food that you get (seafood). Food was good but not spectacular. It was recommended by our driver... So my recommendation would be to trust tripadvisor for a better experience :)

One thing I was looking forward to doing was eating a dinner on the beach in the evening. Our hotel had put together a day tour for us that ended up here at the end of the day. We chose to sit further away from the beach but there was no lighting which meant we couldn't see our food. I suppose that was partly our fault, but I needed to use the light on my phone to see what I was doing to pick the bones from the fish. The seafood for two we bought was overcooked. My wife had to order 3 cocktails off the list before we found one they had the ingredients for. When we finished we were out of there to be met with a $160AUD bill. I wouldn't mind paying this if the food was good and the service was right. Looking along the beach there were plenty of others that "looked" better with a bit more class.

Avoid at all costs. Our driver for the day was asked to drop us off at Jimbaran for dinner and he drive straight to this dismal restaurant. He must have been getting a kickback because honestly why else would he recommend a place like this!? Horrendously overpriced seafood. I would pay less for fisher home and it would be much better quality.. And it was not NOT fresh either. Eyes on the fish were glazed and very little ice in evidence. I didn't eat much other than the rice. My husband used the toilet and said it was filthy dirty and he is still trying to get the smell out of his nostrils. My advice to anyone visiting Jimbaran is to check reviews on here first and make sure you end up at a place that YOU choose!

Worst seafood I've ever eaten. Overcooked lobster, tiny prawns with nothing but shell, tasteless fish with a miserable sauce... Way overpriced for Bali. Just go somewhere else there to enjoy the sunset.
