Dear Kate B,
Thank you very much for joining a Bali Hai cruise and for taking your time to post us this review. I'm glad you had a good day with us and found the food, our service and range of activities great. At the same time I'm left a bit confused why you rated us "Average" even you seem to have been happy with the experience in general.
Reading your comments regarding snorkeling I feel necessary to clarify the matter to people who have not visited our pontoon and as a tip for your possible future visits. The snorkeling area consists of about 100 x 100 meter surface float marked Coral Reef where we can ensure the safety of our valued guests in the water. Depth right next our main pontoon is about 10 meter (~30 Ft.) this way we can avoid any mooring damage to the actual coral reef. While it can be difficult to see the corals at the depths right next to the pontoon, it is recommended to move further away from the pontoon to find more shallow waters. This can be done safely as one is still within the surface floats, our life guards are constantly monitoring the area and life jackets are provided for less confident swimmers. There's abundance of pristine and beautiful corals with various different Reef Fish species found at depths of 1.5 meters already when you swim some way out of our pontoon. I encourage anyone joining our cruises to ask our life guards or dive team where to find the best corals inside the snorkeling areas.
On a recent research there were approximately 250 different reef fish species found from Lembongan Bay area alone, so abundance of marine life is very close and can be found with a little exploration. In fact Bali is part of the South-East Asian Coral Triangle and thus belongs into most abundant area in the world for Marine species. The Coral Triangle is an underwater equivalent to Amazon rain forest. 75% of the World's coral species are found here, close to 600 different species. Over 3000 species of reef fish have been scientifically recognized and new species are still being found. This is almost twice as many fish species as can be found from the Great Barrier Reef.
Thank you again for joining Bali Hai Cruises and for your comments. We warmly welcome you back and hope to see you again whenever your travels take you to to Bali.
Warm regards,
Janne Aihos
