If you want a trip where you can relax, enjoy nature, and along with luxury living, good hospitality and tasty food Rokeby Manor is the place to be!
Its a perfect blend of Modern Facilities with Well preserved Heritage Values.
The best part is that you can take long walks and will never get lost as you end up in the same spot where you started from. Sister's Bazaar, Lal Tibba Char Dukaan etc are all walking distance.
Landour is the home to one of the finest writers like Ruskin Bond and one of the finest schools in asia; The Wood Stock School.

Travelled with Twins and had a wonderful experience. Thank you Management and Staff at Rokeby Manor for making this trip wonderful.

NOTE: Landour and surroundings are very quaint and Full of Snapshots of the British era; only go if you are nature lover and peace seekers; not for the party people.

We stayed at one of the rustic rooms. It was a very peaceful stay and the quality of service by the staff was above expectations. However, the quality of room amenities were a little disappointing.

The first thing that happened was the water heater wasn't working. The hotel staff reacted promptly and got that fixed. Secondly, there's a small window in the roof that guests can open or close to control the sunlight. The way it's designed is that you can use a rope tied on to one of the walls to control its opening. The scary part is that rope touches the fan, so when the fan is moving, you can assume what danger it can pose. In my case, the rope touched the moving fan and the fan wobbled very badly. Scared the hell out of me. This is a badly designed feature. Lastly, the air conditioner was faulty I guess. It made a sudden loud clicking noise randomly. For someone having a sensitive sleep, this is a huge slacker. We were with our six month old, whose sleep got disturbed due to this low quality device.

So overall, the experience was nice but the majority of the credit goes to the surroundings where the hotel is situated and their food and service.

We (a group of 15 - 9 adults and 6 children) had a blissful 3 day stay at Rokeby, and all of us just hated saying goodbye today.
For starters the place is just beautiful, from the lovely rustic wooden cabins, the pretty hand painted detailing making each room unique and special, burst of flowers just everywhere, a charming tea garden, an old world dining experience in a beautiful terraced and indoor restaurant, and of course breathtaking views.
The other huge plus is that the service is impeccable. It was prompt, more than delivering on any ask and staffed by a team of just really nice people.
They also organised a lovely little celebration to bring in my father-in-laws 70th birthday, which was a lovely gesture.
It's an insanely steep climb to get there. Well serviced cars and experienced drivers recommended to get there, but you wouldn't want to go very far from base while there. Beautiful walks to enjoy the woods, hills, weather and a quaint little bakery among other things will fill your time before you know it. Special mention to Ashu, Pavan, Atul, Sandeep and all the lovely staff members I might be forgetting.
If you're looking for a great time with family and friends or just with yourself and some great reading, would recommend the Rokeby experience wholeheartedly :))

We were on our sight seeing tour when we decided to have lunch. After stopping at few places and not finding the same to our choice we stopped at the Rokeby Manor. Once you enter the gates you get the heritage feeling and the ice on the cake was the fog clad weather.

We went to 1st floor at the hotel restaurant and fell in love with the beautiful heritage interiors. Staff were courteous and felt completely relaxed here. We ordered nachos and salsa, paneer naanzaa, garlic cheese nann and penne arrabiata.

Honestly thats the best nachos i have ever ate, crisp with an amazing sauce,The garlic naan was very good too.

There's an impressive library that kept our son busy with coffee table books. The peaceful location is perfect too, being a few minutes from char dukaan and great walks all around. We'll be back for sure and next time to stay.

Pros:
It is an old - like 100 year old - property. It has passed many hands and has now become a hotel. It is quaint and neat. It has these wooden chairs, and windows.. reminded me of my granny's house so quite charming. It is not a hotel, but I highly recommend it if you are planning anyplace in Landour.
Oh one of the rooms that I stayed in was supposedly Sachin Tendulkar's favorite room.. not that it made a difference.

Cons:
It is a bit of a distance from Mussoorie, but we are an active couple so we walked down to the Mall road. Locals do it often. We liked it, but you take a call.

You will like walking around Landour ...unwind.. spend around 2 days here to soak up the relaxing atmosphere. There are plenty of cafes etc nearby to sit down as well.

Room Tip: every room is unique...

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
Rokeby was built in 1840 by Captain G.N. Cauthy and is one of the landmarks of Landour. The house and two acre estate are situated slightly above and to the east of St. Paul's Church and the old cantonment parade ground, which is now Char Dukan. Like many houses in Mussoorie, its name is taken from the writings of Sir Walter Scott, whose book-length poem describes heroic battles near the original Rokeby Castle in England. Methodist missionaries continued to operate the property as a guest house throughout the rest of the 20th century. Today, Rokeby has been carefully restored to its original glory. This heritage building is resplendent with character in its elaborate brick arches and niches, intricate stone walls, real wood floors and beams, and cosy fireplaces. Nestled in the foothills of the Himalayas, the traditions of bygone years – where colonial officers, renegade soldiers of fortune and pious miss saibs lived under one roof – can still be felt. An air of mystery beckons visitors. ... more   less
