“A nice place”
Reviewed 26 February 2012

This hotel was fine. It seems very new. The rooms were very nice and we had no real complaints. Something about it made it feel as though it was designed totally for bus tours, which it probably was. We had a nice balcony in our room with no chairs to sit on to enjoy it. The phone didn’t work and it a few calls to convince them to send someone to fix it. Overall it was fine. It is huge and only a couple of floors and so it was really spread out. We got lost several times. We had to take two elevators to get to the restaurants as I guess the hotel is divided in two areas. No big deal. It was just a little confusing.
We weren’t very impressed with the restaurants. We ate one night in the Pavilion cafe restaurant and the food was OK. We were still jet lagged and wanted to eat earlier than the other restaurants were open so it was fine if not very exciting. Checked out the Grand Buffet the next day and weren’t impressed by the offering so we at the Chinese restaurant, C’est Chine instead and it was very good.
Breakfast was fine with lots of choices with eggs and omelettes cooked to order. Overall the hotel was fine and very close to the Taj Mahal. We would stay there again

Visiting Agra, we stayed at the Jaypee Palace Hotel, a nice hotel located near the Eastern gate of Taj mahal, where most luxury hotels are located. Jaypee Palace would probably be just another 5 star hotel, like most others, if not because of that exceptional personalized service provided by our buttler, Ashish. He made our stay wonderful, a life long memory. We was always there for us, anticipating our smallest needs, taking care of everything on our behlaf, yet discreet enough not be be overwhelming. He was so reliable that we could even ask him to watch over our 10 y/o daughter while attending a function. We owe him a wonderful stay in Agra.

This is probably the best hotel we stayed at during our Golden Triangle Tour (including Udaipur). On arrival we were greeted with garlands and a refreshing drink. The staff was gracious and attentive – a smile can make all the difference. We had dinner that night at Paatra which was their Indian restaurant. The food was pricey, but the ambiance, service and the amazing food made it worthwhile. They had a Ghazal band playing beautiful Hindi/Urdu songs. The chef came out to ask if our food was okay, and happily replaced a dish we thought was salty. Our rooms and washrooms were spacious and pristine. Bed was super comfy. The hotels proximity to the Taj Mahal made it easy to experience it at dawn. Breakfast on return(which was included) was elaborate. Only wish we had stayed longer…

Room Tip: As for a room close to the lobby as the hotel is huge

stayed only one night in this resort /hotel type property .. this place was indeed huge and seem heavenly .. good thing our travel agent gave us something that would give a nice first impression when a stay in the oberoi and ITC didnt push through ... we didn't receive the marigold garlands and welcome drink that other travellers get to have .. anyway its alright we brought our own single luggage by ourselves to our upgraded palace room ... quite impressed by the place , i like the ambiance , and the food choices in the main restaurant for my breakfast , lunch and dinner tastes good and has many variations .. the staff in the coffeeshop were very accomodating and seem eager to serve .. pleasant stay .. would recommend as a place to stay after visiting the taj mahal and red fort in agra .. by the way , the rooms are not sound proof ...and internet is not free

Room Tip: ask for the palace roooms which opens up to a beautiful garden outside its terrace

We stayed at this hotel for 2 days in Feb 2012. Though this is an excellent property in terms of architecture and ambience, but their hospitality - if it at all exists ,is terrible. Would like to share few instances -
1. Hospitality exists only for foreigners. You will experinence this the moment u enter the hotel.

2. Basic tolietries like shower gel , shampoo , lotions etc were not provided. We had to request for these.

3. Restaurant buffet staff in the coffee shop very rudely refused to serve an extra helping on the table citing staff shortage. Also , the waiters asked us to carry food to our room on our own again citing staff shortage. I had requestd for eggs for my 3 year old year old child

4. On check-out, we were made to wait for good 40 minutes for]]]]] our luggage. It was total chaos and mismanaged.

I hada feeling that this hotel just tries to entertain the foreigners and Indians are treated like....We had a real bad experience.
