Lovely little family run guesthouse with good value for money rooms. Plesant rooms with restaurant. As they are just decorating there will be new rooms available shortly and the restaurant will be extented to a roof top terrace. Felt very much at home, looked after and safe.
In walking distance to the Taj Mahal. Sightseeing advice available in several languages.
Would always stay here again

Just if we had had energy to change our place to stay we would have moved. This was an afwul place to stay!

We had to stay in the ground floor in a room which was just almost on the street. The window of the room was halfly replaced with carton and we were afraid someone coming in. Door of the room was crab and we really didn't feel safe. The staff was smoking behind the "window" and all the smoke was coming inside the room. The noises from the street made us feel like to cars and people were just inside of our room!

The room was disgusting and dirty.
The electricity was not working 70% of the time so there was use for the flash lights. The toilet was extra disgusting and of course this was the place where ended up to be sick. Came even more sick in that toilet! :)

Toilet paper was seen as luxury item and you got with special request, but you got is which is good of course.

The area was a bit messy, walking distance from Taj. There was and ok restaurant close (Piray) which can recommend. Also a funny Indian mall close.

The wifi didn't work, which is no surprise after all the other bigger defects!

The guy taking care of the business was fooling you as much as he could, making us to pay 5 times more of every ride or whatever. Doing this he was trying to make us feel better by flattering with idiot things. Many stories were ending that he could take us to this and that's shop were we can buy whatever with very, very cheap price. Yeah, right.

The mum of hotel was making very nice food with reasonable price. A good thing to mention too.

When we arrived at friends paying guest house, admittedly, it was a little scruffy around the edges just as many of the places we had stayed in India, but they showed us to our room which was newly decorated, clean, simple, functional. they told us they were in the middle of renovation so the other rooms I'm sure will be as new and clean as ours. What made friends paying stand out to us was the amazing family that run it. The minute we arrived they made us feel like part of the family, we had been taken into their family home! the food was brilliant traditional Indian cooked by the lady of the house, and the rest of the family were so lovely. We shared photos on the roof while singing to bob marley with the owner! If a real Indian family experience is what you want then look no further!! It was in walking distance of the Taj Mahal and the family told us all the local information we needed, and sold us absolutely nothing, which was a breath of fresh air compared to other places we had been. They even went to the market for me to get a local item i had been looking for!
and to the people writing terrible reviews. Get a grip. Firstly, this is India, If you want a 5 * hotel then pay for one, if you want to stay with an Indian family then stop moaning; this is a family home run by a wonderful family. The rooms were fine and the food was exquisite.
they gave us postcards of the Taj mahal which we wrote on the balcony and sent to our families and everyone we met afterwards we raved about how lovely our stay had been. If you are a traveler looking for an experience rather than a soulless hotel then i think you will enjoy it as much as we did!

Okay... I have been in India for three months. I have stayed in my fair share of run down not-so-great accommodations. THIS ONE REMAINS THE WORST! The first thing to consider is that the rooms are damp and dank and dirty. This may have been tolerable for a night in Agra, but the stay got significantly worse after we tried to go to sleep to the sound of construction on the 3rd floor at 9pm. Loud banging that echoed down the walls (which are SUPER thin). When we asked them to stop, the owners lied and said it was the neighbors. Mind you, this is AFTER we talked to them in the afternoon about their new third floor expansion. Why lie? That's just wrong. The second issue was the mother screaming on her cell phone all night while pacing the upstairs hallway. After asking her to quiet down three times, she continued to scream into her darn Nokia. When I went to move all three of us to anew hotel the next day, the older boy tried to make me pay for the two nights I had throught I would stay. Absolutely ridiculous. Awful customer service and awful rooms equal and awful review.

There was nothing recommendable about this dump of a place, which is a 15 minutes walk from the Taj Mahal. The room was the dirtiest we've slept in, the bathroom appeared to have not been cleaned for months, there were no windows and the air was sticky and damp. The owners were OK friendly, I guess - trying to sell you stuff, but that's what you expect. Scared by the hygiene levels we saw, we didn't try the food.
No mention of the 10am checkout time, we checked out 30 minutes late and were charged another half day. I didn't argue, because I wanted to get away as quickly as possible. We're not picky, really, but this place is best avoided.

Room Tip: Go elsewhere.
