Me and my wife spent 4 nights in Ooty as part of our two-month South Indian trip.
We found this hotel by chance, just a short walk from the bus station. The location is very nice, a white large 1-story bungalow, overlooking most of Ooty and the racecourse, insulated from noise but close to the centre. Green grass around and some huge trees.
We negotiated our stay and got the price down to 2000 Rs per night for a double room. A lot over our initial budget, but we liked the place. The rom was impressive. Clean, large, tall, huge double bed, restored furniture that goes really well with the style of the house. It just had a very nice atmosphere (the entrance was on the side, so it felt like we had our own yard). Bathroom was clean and large.
Breakfast was good (omelettes, toast, butter, jam, masala tea), staff was friendly.
I think this hotel has been recently restored, because we visited most of the rooms before we chose ours, and some of the pictures here are outdated.
Aside from a little misunderstanding about the complimentary breakfast (in the end it was fine, but check if it is indeed complimentary after negotiating), we had a really nice stay in cool, clean, quiet Ooty.More
