“love this temple”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2012

I really love this temple and have visited it many times. I love to find a corner to sit down and meditate here as it has a great feeling. It's a huge complex, and well worth spending a few hours roaming around. The inner sancta (there are two) are officially off limits to foreigners.

“One of the best South Indian temples”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2012

Excellent architecture, awesome lay out and quite traditional. Makes you want to vow to return. The best time to visit would be after 7PM - when the crowd thins down. Or in the early morning before 7AM.

“[HD] Videos Meenakshi Temple - Trip Report”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2012

Hi,

Recently visited Meenakshi Temple, Madurai. I was amazed by the engineering and vision in the architecture of the temple. At least two hours of time is required to admire the temple sculpture and statues.

Took some HD Videos and uploaded on youtube:

“peace!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2012

it is crowded mostly, hence take the 100 rupee ticket as it is for both Shiva & Meenakshi, you should be able to see god very closely and will be out in 10 minutes

“Very busy but a must see”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2012

The temple being Madurai's main attraction is naturally very busy but it is wonderful, what feeling of grandeur and peace we got having arrived there and its as much of a divine place as it is a tourist attraction
