While on a day trip to Conoor, we had lunch at the Gateway Taj. The property is a quiet colonial setting and all wooded décor complete with a fireplace and a piano. Takes you back a few decades. In their menu, they have this particular section of local food. We asked the waiter to recommend something among those and he informed us that they get a local person to come and cook in their kitchen and that food is even more authentic. We jumped on that opportunity and ordered a non veg meal. We got three vegetables, a bowl of rice, a veg curry and a chicken curry along with a chappti kind of preparation called gassu dhoti and we absolutely loved it. Would def def recommend this.
