We visited in the super busy pre-Dussera weekend.
When we usually stay at a heritage property, it is so far removed from the main city that the sounds of the city never reach us. This time, thanks to last minute booking, we got this property that was pat in old Udaipur city. The arti from the nearby temple, the last day of Navratri celebration, everything reached our ears. It was so lovely to be out at midnight, just walking the tiny lanes of old Udaipur. And it was very safe.
The hotel staff guided us adequately. The property itself is such a delight! We took the suite room that overlooks the city palace - on the 2nd floor. The view from the room was so beautiful.
We could also walk those narrow lanes and go to other eating places - like Oopre, and one more, for dinner.
The rooms are comfortable and spacious, but what i loved even more were the geniune articles placed all over the haveli, and the tree at the center of the courtyard. We did not explore the swimming pool at all.
The hotel does not have an elevator.More
