“Heritage Property Nicely Restored but Entrance is Very Narrow & Steep”
Reviewed 24 March 2012

I Stayed at Hotel Anjani on 12th March for 1 Night.
It is a Heritage Property Nicely Restored. Surprised to see a Swimming Pool & a Lift. Lift is well positioned & is a Big Plus as the Hotel has 4 Floors.
The Rooms are Huge. I stayed in a DLX Ex Room which had a Sitting Room with a Sofa which can atleast sit 5 persons, then a Huge Heritage Bedroom, then again a small sitting area for 2 in a Jharoka & a Newly Done Bathroom with All Basic Amenities.
All in All a Value for Money Proposition - Nice, Clean & Comfortable Rooms.
The Food especially the Non Veg was Awesome. The Chapatis were like Home Made & the Chicken Curry also Tasted Delicious.
The Negative Factor of the Hotel is the Area & Entrance to the Hotel - It is Located in a Very Crowded Area of Old part of Udaipur. The Entrance to the Hotel from the Main Road is Very Narrow & Very Steep. My Physically Challenged Adult Daughter had a Problem & we had to catch hold her hand. Other than this, it is 5 out of 5 Rating to this Hotel.
The Room Service was Excellent - Whatever was asked for was supplied immediately. Food was also served within 20 mts of the order.
Saw Lots of Foreigners staying in the Hotel.
The whole Area has such Small Heritage Properties which are converted into Hotels & is predominantly served to Foreigners.
Lots of shop of Readymade Clothes, Traditional Rajasthani handicrafts especially lots of shops of Leather items & Footwear.

Room Tip: Everything is mentioned above. Elderly Persons & persons with Physical Disability should avoid...

We arrived on an early train and had breakfast whilst waiting to 10.30 before gaining access to our room. Room was comfortable and spacious with a window seat and multi channel tv, plenty of hot water in the bathroom. Hotel is a bit like a rabbit warren and we took a few wrong turnings when returning to our room the first time. There is a good view from the roof top restaurant which serves good Indian and western breakfasts, we ate out at nearby restaurants in the evening. The pool was too cold to use when we were there (February). Staff were helpful and friendly with computers guests could use. Hotel was centrally located easy walking distance to the palace etc.

We visited Udaipur on Feb 29, 2012 for couple of days. This was the beginning of low season so Udaipur was less crowded and services everywhere were better and cheaper. This hotel is located in the heart of the old city. A small clean alley leads to it from the main road. The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. The rooms, toilets, sheets were all very clean. The rooms are also carpeted and decorated with pictures from probably pre-independence time. The staff was also very helpful. They guided us well in our tours in the city. The food in the restaurant was good but a bit expensive.

I happened to book at this hotel by chance, and boy this was a jewel. Neat room, amazingly comfortable beds, clean bathroom. Service was also good. Food is ok. The location of the hotel is also an added advantage. The best part what i observed was, when asked for help for cab/autos, the staff won't suck on you like a leech to order a cab through them to earn commission unlike other areas in Udaipur or Rajasthan.
They also offered me & my friend to check in a bit early. Kind & Helpful staff. I would say, this was my best stay throughout rajasthan.

The staff are great at Anjani Hotel. The location was superb too....just near Gangour Ghat, so right near the baest eateries, Cafe Edelweiss and cafe Namaste and also right near the nightly cultural performances. A quick walk to the temple too. Superb views from the restaurant on sunset. Thanks Jay. Good value for money.
