Hotel is in a part of city palace..Suites with terrace is very good..well maintained..Spl shout out to laalusinghji at breakfast he makes u feel at home and caters each n every craving of urs..very helpful and welcoming..the only minus point is housekeeping takes a lot of time to answer calls

We stayed for 2 nights in Shiv Niwas Udaipur and I must say the location of the property is absolutely fantastic with access to city palace and lake side views. We thoroughly enjoyed the lakeside walks in early morning and late evenings.However, the staff here lacks warmth and hospitality and food was ok. This is a beautiful property with royal feeling but avoid staying in palace rooms as they are in no match with the rest of premises. This is a beautiful property and the place can offer so much if they put some focus on hospitality and revive their food choices.
Shiv Niwas Palace hotel is part of the historic City Palace complex. All the original charm has been maintained while adding modern facilities for guests. The food is delicious and the hospitality from everyone is impeccable. The Imperial Suite is absolutely massive with a wonderful water fountain built inside it. I was planning to book a normal room but I'm glad I decided to stay in a Suite instead. Worth the price!
Basking in the glory of the City Palace is the Shiv Niwas Palace hotel. While the premises are well appointed, the rooms were disappointing compared to images on the net and the exorbitant charges did to match expectations.
The breakfast was very good but the food mediocre. The room fridge did not function properly and the service average.

We stayed at the Shiv Niwas palace with our family to celebrate someone's 60th birthday.
The hospitality of the staff is excellent. The palace is beautiful in the day and even more beautiful at night. The terrace rooms are spacious and excellent and gives you a feel of staying amidst royalty.
The food at the restaurant was outstanding. We regret going out for dinner and not having had our dinner at the restaurant. The laal maas, the aloo chutney wala and govind gatta curry are must trys at the palace.
We also did have drinks at the bar, nothing like the Rose Gin & Tonic to beat the summer heat.
The Shiv niwas palace is located as a part of the city palace and is ideally situated to travel to the main attractions and can be visited by using the buggy provided by the hotel.
The terrace rooms are excellent and spacious and provided great views. The rooms on the ground floor are bigger.

This property is maintained and run by the HRH group. In very close proximity to the city palace, Jagdeesh Mandir and Pichola lake. Walkable distance. This has many rooms with a city view and less with lake view. Because only one section of the hotel can get the lake view. The HRH residence and Fateh Prakash Palace are between this property and the lake. The food is ok. Breakfast has good spread. The restaurant staff do need to be more available though.
