We had visited Jaipur, Jaisalmer and Bikaner before coming to Jodhpur.

Of all the hotels where we stayed this was the most inferior hotel.

The hotel is too small. Reaching there is a nightmare as one has to traverse through narrow bye lanes. The lanes are so small that your buses & minivans cannot even ply thorugh them. You have to neccessarily take the rickshaws to reach the hotel.

The rooms are very small & not upto the mark.

Teh restaurant was average so was the food.

It was a disappointing experience & one should not stay here.

there are many better options available

I had a wonderful time staying this hotel. I found the staff to be very helpful, hospitable and welcoming not to mention very obliging when I had any requests/ enquiries. The owner in particular is delightful who makes you feel very much at home.

The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Elaborately decorated in the interior and very comely. It was very secure and I always felt that my belongings were safe. The location is excellent. Only a 2 minute walk to the clock tower and Sadar Market (centre of town) and situated right at the base of the fort which makes for lovely scenery to enjoy over breakfast. It also situated right next to the blue city. Roof top bar and restaurant (graced with the same view of the fort) is also a very pleasant locale to pass an evening.

The aesthetic of the building is very charming - a fitting accompaniment to one's exploration of Rajasthan.

Enjoy your travels,

H

PS I wouldn't heed much of the negative reviews as, from my experience at the hotel, they are a poor reflection on what the Hotel is actually like and could dissuade you from enjoying what is a truly delight boutique hotel that would be a shame to miss.

I stayed at this hotel as part of a group of 10, all Indian nationals. Keep this in mind as you read my comments.

We arrived late (10 PM) after a day of travel. Winding through the crowded and dirty streets on our way to this hotel, I fervently hoped that it would live up to its billing as an oasis in the old city. Unfortunately the bad impression extended past the gates. The hotel entry was clogged with tightly parked vehicles, leaving us no room to unload. Music was blaring through the compound from a loudspeaker next door. Our promised room on the first floor for the elderly people in our party had been rented to others. We asked to see alternate rooms; two of us went with the hotel employee and midway through the tour he locked one of us in a room!

Obviously, none of this left a positive impression. We would have shifted locations if we could. But we had put a deposit down to hold these rooms, and it was late, so we felt we had no choice but to stay. Time did not bear this out as a wise decision. Our beds were rock-hard and miserable even by Indian standards. Hot water was nowhere in sight even after waiting an hour for the geyser to fill. We decided to wait until morning to shower and headed upstairs to eat a late bite at the hotel restaurant. The view was good, but sadly, the restaurant itself (to put it politely) was terrible. I have not eaten a worse meal anywhere in India.

The next morning we were greeted by a power cut - typical for Indian cities, but most good hotels have generator or battery backup. This hotel does not. We suffered through cold baths and headed up to the restaurant for our included breakfast. Because of the power cut, we were told that we could have only juice and cold bread with jam. Most kitchens in India work off gas tanks, and food production can continue even in a power cut, so this was an unpleasant surprise, and the nail in the coffin for this sorry excuse of a hotel. We had planned to stay 3 days, but decided to check out early and find somewhere better.

To our surprise, the manager went into a tirade, demanding payment in full for all 3 nights and insisting we had forfeited our deposit instead of agreeing to credit it to our room balance. He even told our autorickshaw driver not to take us anywhere until we had cleared the balance he was demanding! We dragged our luggage to the street and found our own transportation, the yells of management trailing behind us as we left. We headed to Pal Haveli quite nearby, which had comparable prices and a vastly superior ambiance. Pal Haveli is everything this place is not - we had a wonderful stay there and I wish we had booked there from the outset.

The word of our departure from Krishna Prakash traveled fast. We had several rickshaw drivers ask us that day why we left. After explaining the situation, we learned that the owner of this property died recently, leaving the hotel to drift rudderless into a sharp decline. I guess that explains why this place has so many positive reviews. Just don't believe them, and don't book rooms at Krishna Prakash!

Room Tip: So bad we checked out early! Head to the Pal Haveli instead. That place is tops and prices are compa...

The KPHH is located just 5 minutes walk from the mehrangarh fort. From the rooftop restaurant the view of the fort is impeccable. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable. The bathrooms are nice although the water pressure in the showers is weak. KPHH is also conveniently located just a few hundred meters from the main market around the clocktower. It is an easy walk but it is nice to be able to escape the hustle and bustle when you want some relief from the craziness of Indian streets. Most importantly, the staff is very friendly. The manager, Nikhil, gave us his personal cell phone number and went out of his way to make us feel comfortable and at home. He booked buses and trains for us at no expense and was always very friendly (he even wished my mom merry xmas on skype while i talked to her). The breakfast spread is the best we've had in India so far, with parathas, curry potatoes, omlettes with curry and onions and peppers, as well as the regular toasts and jams and teas and fruit. All in all the downs are 1)poor pressure in showers 2) no wifi in rooms, only in lobby. The upsides are, well, everything else. After traveling for four months, this is an excellent home away from home.
