First of all apologies for not writing this sooner! We'd read about spice paradise here on tripadvisor and were really happy to bump into it on our second day in jodhpur (back in jan/feb). It was closed but rekha opened up just for us and me and my girlfriend had a great day learning to make the most incredible chai and some amazing food.

India can be really overwhelming so it was really nice to meet such a genuinely lovely and inviting woman. When her husband returned (from what sounded like quite an eventful trip) he was just as lovely. We showed him how to get his business online and had a chat and went home extremely happy customers.

I still remember this as my favourite day in India.

Reader's Digest should do a write up on how Spice Paradise came up from no where to be one of the top attractions in Jodphur in about 2-3 years. Truly inspirational. (ask Rekha about it) There are indeed good reasons why Spice Paradise is at the top. Warm chef, great recipes, good guidance provided, tips on ayurvedic medicine and healing properties of the ingredients thrown in together with the secret "Special Saffron Lassi" thrown in. The husband and wife dynamics behind Spice Paradise is also marvellous-Anil makes the spices and Rekha teaches. Among my three friends and I who went, at least 2 of us do not cook. However, we were able to re-create the dishes in Singapore about 3 weeks after the cooking class. Tips: 1. do not eat too much briyani-you want to save room for the other food. 2. Buy Anil's specially packed spices if you want to cook it at home, some of the spices like Briyani masala, you cannot find it anywhere else in the world. Call 91-9460957995 to arrange a class.

We have taken several cooking classes in Asia and this was our favorite! Rekha is wonderful. She is passionate about food and sharing her knowledge with others and this shines through in everything she does. My husband and I enjoyed everything we made and can't wait to try out some of the recipes. The chance to sit and talk and laugh with Rekha was also a highlight. It isn't often that you get this kind of chance with a local and can feel like a guest in their home. Don't miss this!!

We emailed to set up our evening cooking class. They responded to us very quickly and everything worked out perfectly. The email is: anilkumar20042003@gmail.com

My husband and I like to find cooking schools in the various countries that we visit. Spice Paradise was one of the best experiences we have had. Rekah was excellent in her approach to teaching. She would show us how to do it then would have us do it alone, while she supervised and at times "rescued" the dish! She gave us a recipe book of everything we made. The best was the saffron lassi!! She explained that the ingredients are what make the difference. The taste was proof enough that she uses the freshest and best!! Spices are for sale at good prices. Treat yourself to learning how to cook proper Indian dishes from a quality teacher.
